Five fire departments, the Sheriff's Office and Acadian Ambulance answered the call Saturday morning to a house fire in Bayou Vista. Two bodies were found inside the house, and a third person was airlifted to a hospital.

Two bodies discovered after Bayou Vista fire extinguished
Two bodies were discovered in a Bayou Vista home where area firefighters had extinguished a fire Saturday, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office said. A third person was injured and transported to an area hospital.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office detectives and the State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating.
Deputies were sent to the fire on Jupiter Street in Bayou Vista just after 8 a.m. Saturday, the Sheriff's Office said.
The Bayou Vista Volunteer Fire Department, Morgan City Fire Department, Berwick Fire Department, Patterson Fire Department, Amelia Fire Department and Acadian Ambulance also responded to the scene.
"An injured person who was outside the structure was transported to a hospital via Acadian AirMed for treatment," the Sheriff's Office said. "After the fire was extinguished, two individuals were found deceased inside the home."
This investigation is in its early stages, and additional information will be released as it becomes available, the Sheriff's Office said.
