Three accused of trying to burglarize Lenny Lane home

St. Mary deputies tracked down three men accused of attempting to burglarize a Lenny Lane home.

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 96-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 106 complaints and made these arrests:

--Jose Manuel Bibian, 18, Morgan City, was arrested at noon Saturday on charges of burglary and resisting arrest or officer.

--Juan Carlos Salinas-Lara, 19, Amelia, was arrested at noon Saturday on charges of burglary and resisting arrest or officer.

--Damian Augustine Calderon, 18, Amelia, was arrested at noon Saturday on charges of burglary and resisting arrest or officer.

On Friday morning, a deputy was dispatched to a residence on Lenny’s Lane after a call about several armed subjects attempting to burglarize a residence. Upon arrival, the deputy saw several subjects run from the residence.

The deputy chased the subjects on foot and apprehended one. Detectives were called to the scene and began an investigation.

Through the investigation, other subjects were identified and subsequently located. Bibian, Salinas-Lara, and Calderon were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.

Bail was set at $72,500.

--Shon Larray Wilson Jr., 23, Baton Rouge, was arrested at 6:49 p.m. Sunday on an East Baton Rouge Parish warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of domestic
abuse child endangerment law, domestic abuse battery and second-degree battery. Wilson is being held for another agency.

--Chiquita Demetria Collins, 40, Berwick, was arrested at 4:21 p.m. Sunday on a charge of theft and on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of possession of cocaine, no seat belt, and illegal use, possession, or control of weapons (crime of violence). Bail has not been set at this time..

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 101 calls for service over the last 96-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Shawn Michael Thompson, 45, Rose Park Lane, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:18 a.m. Thursday on charges of remaining after forbidden, three counts of theft (under $1,000) and possession of stolen things.

--Joseph Cornelius Young III, 53, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:19 p.m. Thursday on two counts of failure to appear for trial (16th Judicial District Court).

--Patience James Clark, 47, Duke Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:28 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving under suspension, disregard of traffic controls and failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Madilyn Hallie Wilcox, 18, East: Stephensville Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:20 p.m. Friday on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

--Cameron Hogan, 20, Natalie Lane, Patterson, was arrested at 7:34 a.m. Saturday on charges of careless operation and no driver’s license.

--John Phillip Dugan, 37, Westdale Drive, Baton Rouge, was arrested at 8:07 p.m. Saturday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting).

--Ronald Clark, 55, Rodeo Circle, Farmerville, was arrested at 8:07 p.m. Saturday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting).

--Arshiele Fontenot, 37, Dove Crossing, Ville Platte, was arrested at 2:02 a.m. Sunday on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

--Gregory S. Payne, 47, Oregon Street, Berwick, was arrested at 3:18 a.m. Sunday on charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, improper lighting and driving under suspension.

--Shelly Marie LaCaze, 45, California Street, Berwick, was arrested at 3:18 a.m. Sunday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana (second offense), possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer.

--John Ashmore, 52, Amelia Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:59 a.m. Sunday on a charge of simple battery.

--Christopher Joseph Adams Jr., 42, Leona Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:08 p.m. Saturday on a charge of remaining after being forbidden.

--Georgianna Jacqulin Sweetser, 55, Florida Alley, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. Sunday on a charge of possession of stolen things.

--Estrella Ashley Shamah, 34, Garber Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:55 p.m. Sunday on charges of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court), no driver’s license and no insurance.

Berwick

Chief David S. Leonard reported these arrests:

--Gregory Hartman, 70, Oregon Street, Berwick, was arrested on at 1:06 p.m. Thursday on a Berwick arrant alleging illegal use of dangerous weapons or instrumentalities.

About 1:06 p.m. Thursday, officers located Hartman at a residence on Utah Street. Hartman had an active warrant through the Berwick Police Department and was placed under arrest without incident.

The warrant stems from a shooting incident that occurred on March 25. Through the course of the investigation, it was learned that Hartman fired a gun into the ground, which led to the shooting. Hartman was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the warrant.

--Jace Lodrigue, 24, Theriot Alley, Berwick was arrested at 7:10 p.m. Friday on a charge of disturbing the peace.

About 7:03 p.m. Friday, officers in the area of Fourth Street were flagged down in reference to a male subject causing a disturbance. Officers located and made contact with
the subject, who was identified as Lodrigue. Lodrigue was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked.

--Scott Haley, 33, G Avenue, Marrero, was arrested 1:45 a.m. Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), reckless operation of a motor vehicle, expired license plate, no driver’s license on person and possession of a Schedule II drugs.

About 1:28 a.m. Saturday, the Berwick Police Department received a complaint of a reckless driver on U.S. 90. Officers responded and located the vehicle and observed it to have an expired license plate.

A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and officers made contact with Haley. During the course of the stop, Haley showed signs of impairment, and amphetamine pills were located on his person. Tests were conducted, and he performed poorly.

Haley was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where he provided a valid breath sample of 0.000 G% BAC. Haley then consented to urine and blood samples, which were sent to the crime lab for chemical testing. Haley was booked.

--Marco- Antonio Andrade-Gonzales, 21, Jones Street, Berwick was arrested. Monday on charges of speeding 49 mph in a 30 mph zone, improper lane usage, no driver’s license, failure to register vehicle and violation of registration restrictions.

About 5:43 a.m. Monday, an officer in the area of the La. 182 bridge observed a vehicle traveling at a higher rate of speed than the posted speed limit. The vehicle’s speed was indicated to be 49 mph in a 30 mph zone

The officer also observed that the vehicle failed to dim its headlights with oncoming traffic. A traffic stop was conducted, and officers made contact with Suazo.

During the course of the traffic stop it was learned that she did not have a driver’s license. It was also learned that the license plate displayed on the vehicle was fictitious, the vehicle was not properly registered and he did not have insurance. Suazo was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where she was booked.

Franklin

Interim Chief Tina Thibodeaux reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 25 complaints over the holiday weekend and made these arrests:

--Deirdria Hoston, 36, Robertson Street, Franklin, was arrested at 10:11 a.m. Thursday on a warrant dated April 5 alleging two counts of theft. Hoston was additionally arrested on a warrant for the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office alleging issuing worthless checks. Hoston was booked, processed and released to appear in court.

--Blake Picard, 24, Anderson Street, Franklin, was arrested at 8:50 p.m. Thursday on a charge of driving under suspension. Picard was booked, processed and released on a $1,000 bond.

--Deshawn Granger, 33, Martin Luther King Boulevard, Franklin, was arrested at 12:04 a.m. Saturday on charges of disturbing the peace and resisting an officer. Granger was additionally arrested on the charge of aggravated battery. Granger was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Dominick Richard, 42, Isabella Street, Franklin, was, at 11:47 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of operating a vehicle while license suspended. Richard was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.

--Alicia Calais, 37, Saizan Avenue, Port Barre, was arrested at 6:54 p.m. Saturday on a warrant dated April 4 alleging seven counts of violation of a protective order. Calais was booked, processed and held on a $17,500 bond.

--Tammie Windus, 47, Bigler Street, Franklin, was arrested at 11:11 p.m. Saturday on a charge of domestic abuse battery. Windus was booked, processed and released on a $3,500 bond.
