Theft, drug arrests reported by authorities; seven picked up on warrants

Morgan City police and St. Mary deputies made seven arrests on warrants alleging failure to appear or contempt Thursday, while the parish Narcotics Section made a drug arrest and Patterson police booked a theft suspect.

Patterson

Police Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Travis S. Richardson, 33, Gunther Street, Patterson, was arrested at 3:59 p.m. Thursday on charges of theft and simple battery. Richards was currently incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $829.

--Erica Rivera-Castor, 32, Cleveland Street, Patterson, was arrested at 8:37 p.m. Thursday on charges of driv-er’s license suspended, revoked or canceled; speeding 48 mph in a 35 mph zone; failure to register vehicle; and no insurance.
Rivera-Castor was issued a summons.

--Calvin Griffin, 49, Plum Street, Patterson, was arrested at 11:53 p.m. Thursday on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated). Griffin was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $459.

Morgan City

Interim Police Chief Mark E. Griffin Jr. reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 40 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Allysa Ashmore, 32, River Road, Berwick, was arrested at 3:41 p.m. Thursday on a charge of contempt of court (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Jeffrey Gross, 39, Fifth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:53 p.m. Thursday on two counts of failure appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Robert Burke, 59, Church Street, Patterson, was arrested at 3:53 p.m. Thursday on a charge of contempt of court (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Toni Bourgeois, 40, Verdun Lane, Franklin, was arrested at 10:30 p.m. Thursday on a charge of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 32 complaints and made these arrests:

-Kilna P. Araya, 38, Franklin, was arrested at 6:08 p.m. Thursday by the Narcotics Section on charges of pos-session of marijuana and possession of Xanax. Bail was set at $4,500.

--Emma Mae Fulks, 35, Patterson, was arrested at 12:40 p.m. Thursday on two warrants alleging failure to appear. Bail has not been set.

--Savannah Louise Hebert, 28, Patterson, at 2:42 p.m. Thursday on two warrants alleging failure to appear. Bail has not been set.

--Isaiah Darnell Heathmon, 35, Franklin, was arrested on at 9:19 p.m. Thursday on two warrants alleging failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while license is suspended, revoked or canceled; speeding; and operating a vehicle with an unlit license plate. Bail has not been set.
