Thanksgiving tradition welcomes Christmas

Six-year-old Michelle Guzman of Wyandotte Elementary turned on the lights Thursday at the Spirit of Morgan City shrimp boat. The boat once again features decorations created by designer and Morgan City native Lee Romaire, including the familiar white alligators pulling the boat carrying Santa.
Youngsters also had a chance to talk with Santa, and Spirit of Morgan City Christmas Festival queens cut a ribbon to open the ceremony.
