Terrorizing charge among local arrests

Tuesday arrests reported by area agencies included one on charges of terrorizing and violation of a protective order and another on a domestic battery charge.
St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith advised that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 29 complaints and made these following arrests:
—John Clifton Aucoin, 39, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday on charges of violation of protective orders (two counts, terrorizing, no driver’s license and failure to secure registration.
No bail has been set.
—Kurwin Webb, 27, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday on a probation violation. No bail has been set.
—Charles Hinkle, 58, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 4:03 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of telephone calls-harassment. Hinkle was released on a $500 bond.
—Daniel Lee Allan Tillery, 29, Amelia, was arrested at 10:47 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of unauthorized entry of inhabited dwelling, simple battery and criminal trespass. Tillery was released on a summons to appear July 22.
Berwick
Police Chief David Leonard reported this arrest:
—Humberto Maldanado, 37, River Road, Berwick, was arrested at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday on a Berwick warrant for domestic abuse battery.
At 3:50 a.m., Maldanado walked into the Berwick Police Department stating that he wanted to turn himself in on an active warrant that Berwick police held for his arrest.
The warrant was confirmed, and Maldanado was placed under arrest.
He was booked into the Berwick jail on the charges and is waiting for bond to be set.
The warrant stems from an incident that occurred April 2 in which a female called E-911 and stated that the police were needed on River Road due to a disturbance between her and her husband.
It was learned through investigation that Maldanado had committed a battery on his wife and left the area walking.
Maldanado could not be located at the time, so a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Morgan City
Police Chief James F. Blair reported that over the last 24-hour period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 24 calls for service and made these arrests:
—Joy Francois, 40, Mallard Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:42 p.m. Tuesday on a 6th Ward Court warrant for contempt of court.
—Brock Matthew Menard, 34, Patton Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:41 a.m. Wednesday on charges of tail lamps required, operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and resisting an officer.
Franklin
Police Chief Morris Beverly reported that his department responded to 20 complaints over the past 24 hours and made these arrests:
—Eric Benjamin, 63, Willow Street, Franklin, was arrested at 11:06 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant dated March 8 for simple assault.
Benjamin was booked, processed and released on a $1,000 bond.
—Bahrenton Ladd, 19, Jackson Street, Franklin, was arrested at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday on charges of speed zone, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a stolen firearm.
Ladd was booked, processed, and released on a $12,000 bond.
Assumption
Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrest:
—Ty Albarado, 27, La. 308, Napoleonville, was arreted on a charge of illegal possession of a firearm.
—Juvenile, 14, Gray, was arrested on a count of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
—Juvenile, 16, Thibodaux, was arrested on a count of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
The arrests resulted from a residential burglary on La. 308 north of the Supreme Bridge.
On Saturday, deputies responded to the call for service and made contact with the complainant.
The complainant reported that the home he occupied was burglarized while he was away.
Through investigation, detectives were able to identify and file verified complaints against the two juveniles.
The juveniles were released to their guardians.
Detectives recovered numerous guns thtathad been stolen in the burglary.
During the investigation, detectives identified Albarado as having been convicted this year on felony drug charges. Albarado could not legally possess a firearm.
Albarado was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention pending a bond hearing. All the firearms were seized as evidence.
