Talk about a blessing

After a day of unrelenting drizzle Saturday and early-morning rain Sunday, the weather lightened up for the Louisiana Shrimp & Petroleum Festival's Blessing of the Fleet on the Berwick riverfront.

After some maneuvering against wind and current, the queen and king's boats lined up for the traditional toast by King Daniel Conrad to Queen Natalie Sloane.

The Rev. Patrick Riviere blessed boat as they passed the dock.

Jackie Brown, who coordinates the festival's gospel music performances, sang for those who gathered for the blessing.
