Suspect arrested in year-old armed robbery

A Broussard man has been accused of an armed robbery that occurred a year ago in Bayou L’Ourse.

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported this arrest:

--Alvin Fitch, Jr., 19, Duke Street, Broussard, was booked Tuesday on charges of armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and contributing the delinquency of juveniles, and on a detainer for the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The charges result from an incident Dec. 28, 2023 in Bayou L’Ourse.

Deputies responded to a complaint in the 200 block of Murial Street in reference to an armed robbery. Deputies made contact with a male victim who advised that he was walking in the vicinity of La. 398 and La. 663 when he was approached by a male subject who punched him in the head.

Shortly thereafter, multiple suspects wearing ski masks, some of whom were armed, robbed him of a minimal amount of cash.

Detectives initiated an investigation and were able to identify some of the suspects, including Fitch.

At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives secured arrest warrants for the suspects including Fitch.

The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office notified the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office that Fitch was in their custody on May 10, 2024. Fitch was released to the custody of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:

--Anthony Ray Stevenson, 20, Charenton, was arrested at 4:33 p.m. Sunday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of simple criminal damage to property, disturbing the peace (language) and aggravated assault. Stevenson was released on a $5,500 bond.

--Cole Zephrien Fruge, 33, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 1:48 a.m. Saturday on a charge of theft. Bail was set at $500.

--Asia Marie Do, 29, Franklin, was arrested at 4:37 a.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of criminal neglect of family. Bail was set at $1,596.

--Erica Lee Gilton, 42, New Iberia, was arrested at 9:06 a.m. Saturday on an Assumption Parish warrant alleging driver must be licensed, no registration and no insurance. Gilton is being held for another agency.

--Xavier Omar Clark, 19, Centerville, was arrested at 2:27 p.m. Saturday on charges of theft, simple assault and disturbing the peace (language). Clark was released on a $3,000 bond.

--Timothy Wayne Tindell, 51, Ricohoc, was arrested t 8:05 p.m. Saturday on a Berwick Police Department warrant alleging tattooing minors. Bail has been set at $5,000.

--Rufus Scott Ackman Jr., 55, Franklin, was arrested at 10:32 p.m. Saturday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and criminal trespass. Bail has been set at $3,000.

--Amber Lynn Metrejean, 35, Patterson, was arrested at 10:30 p.m. Saturday on two warrants alleging failure to appear on charges of menacing and criminal neglect of family. Bail has been set at $5,071.20.

--Marlon Maurice August, 48, Jeanerette, was arrested at 3:19 p.m. Sunday on a charge of domestic abuse battery. Bail has been set at $3,100.

--Jose Manuel Bibian Jr., 20, Jeanerette, was arrested at 12:19 p.m. Monday on a charge of burglary from a vehicle. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Harold Henry Henderson Jr., 44, Berwick, was arrested at 1:31 p.m. Jan. 3 on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Henderson was released on a $2,500 bond.

--Curstone Paul Alfred, 48, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested at 6:45 p.m. Jan. 3 on charges of simple burglary, unauthorized entry of inhabited dwelling, criminal damage to property and theft. Bail was set at $120,000.

--Akeem Brandon Demolle, 38, Franklin, was arrested at 5:39 p.m. Monday on two complaint warrants for charges of cyberstalking and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, as well as a warrant alleging failure to appear.

Demolle also held multiple warrants with other agencies including the Franklin and Opelousas police departments and the sheriff’s offices in Vermilion, Iberia, St. Martin and Lafayette.

Bail has not been set on the SMPSO charges and a hold has been placed on Demolle for other agencies.

--Bonnie Claar Tallada, 31, Patterson, was arrested at 1:03 p.m. Tuesday on charges of disobeyed stop sign and two counts of violation of protective order. Bail was set at $10,150.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:

--Danny Michael Fulks, 39, Parish Road, Franklin, was arrested at 10:27 a.m. Monday on charges of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court) and eight counts of failure to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Ricky Anthony Dupre Jr., 45, Maple Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:39 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of possession of marijuana and as a fugitive from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.

--Edel Hermenegildo Herme Ixcot De Leon, 32, Patton Street, Morgan City, was arrested 5:15 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of domestic abuse battery (child endangerment law).

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported this arrest:

--Kemiah J. Watson, 25, Washington Street, Patterson, was arrested at 11:07 p.m. Monday on a charge of domestic abuse battery (child endangerment). Watson is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with no bond set.
