St. Mary Sheriff's Office makes meth, marijuana arrests

St. Mary sheriff’s deputies made arrests on methamphetamine and marijuana possession charges Wednesday, according to arrest reports. And Wayne Michael Escort, recently returned from Texas to St. Mary to face armed robbery charges, was booked on a warrant that says he failed to appear to answer a sex crime charge.

St. Mary
Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advised that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 39 complaints and made these arrests:
—Wayne Michael Escort, 33, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:02 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charge of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile. Bail has not been set.
—Joshua Davon Crosby, 33, Baldwin, was arrested at 10:06 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charge of possession of firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a convicted felon. Bail has not been set.
—Virgis Marie Metrejean, 58, Pierre Part, was arrested at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday on two warrants alleging failure to appear on the charges of possession of methamphetamine and driving while intoxicated. Bail has not been set.
—Jamal Bell, 18, Franklin, was arrested at 10:06 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of simple battery. Bell was released on a summons to appear June 24.
—Brandon Leigh Boudreaux, 36, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:02 a.m. Thursday on charges of driving on roadway laned for traffic, general speed law, no insurance, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bail has not been set.
—Kai Allen Martin, 34, New Iberia, was arrested at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charges of possession of speeding and operating a vehicle while license is suspended, revoked or canceled. Bail was set at $400.
—Jonathan Motte, 38, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:41 p.m. Wednesday on charges of improper lane usage, window tint violation, obstruction of justice and possession of marijuana.
Bail has not been set.

Morgan City
Police Chief James F. Blair reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 34 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made this arrest:
—Russell Blanchard Jr., 34, Allison Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday on a 6th Ward Morgan City Court warrant alleging four counts of failure to appear.

Franklin
Police Chief Morris Beverly reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to seven complaints over the past 24-hour reporting period and made this arrest:
—Asia Do, 27, Willow Street, Franklin, was arrested at 8:07 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of aggravated second-degree battery. Do was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
