SLCC Young Memorial will host women's health event

The Student Engagement Office and the PN Student Nurses Association at the South Louisiana Community College Young Memorial Campus will run a Women’s Health Fair 11 a.m.-1 p.m. March 23 at the college’s main lobby.
The event will offer free information on mental and physical health, plus free body mass index, height, weight and vital signs checks.
The booths will include:
—Depression and mental health education. This booth will be provided by the St. Mary Parish Behavioral Health Unit.
—Domestic violence education provided by Chez Hope.
—Information about birth control, family planning and sexually transmitted infections.
—Obesity and nutrition information.
—Information on annual mammograms, hormone replacement and menopause.
—Information on breast self-exams and heart disease prevention.
