Sheriff's Narcotics Section arrests 5; Morgan City police charge 3 with drunk driving

Morgan City police arrested three people on drunk driving charges over the weekend and two more on charges of disturbing the peace by intoxication.

St. Mary sheriff’s deputies made four arrests on drug charges Friday and a fifth alleging failure to appear on a heroin charge.

Morgan City

Police Chief James F. Blair reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 113 calls for service over the last 72-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

—Alyssa Louise Ashmore, 32, River Road, Berwick, was arrested at 2:14 a.m. Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense) and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

—Vernon Joseph Robin Jr., 58, Front Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:07 a.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated (second offense), improper lane usage and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

—Jonathan Killingsworth, 31, Fifth Street, Morgan City, was arrested on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated), simple battery, two counts of battery on emergency room personnel (two counts), criminal damage to property and resisting an officer.

—Dayshon Terell Pete, 18, Lizabeth Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:23 p.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), hit-and-run driving and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

—David M. Mire, 45, Velma Court, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:55 p.m. Friday on three counts of failure to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

—Donald R. Watts, 35, Oliver Wheat Road, Livingston, was arrested at 1:24 a.m. Monday on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated).

—Jesse Mosley, 41, Nichole Street, Houma, was arrested at 10:08 p.m. Friday on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

—Jacob Nathaniel Kelnart, 28, Front Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:44 p.m. Sunday on charges of no insurance, driving under suspension, registration required and disobeying traffic controls.

—Henry Collins III, 27, Lawrence Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:44 p.m. Sunday on charges of possession of marijuana, improper lighting, switched license plate and possession of stolen things (over $25,000).

advised that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 100 complaints and made these arrests:

—Nicole Rodrigue, 49, Jeanerette, was arrested at 11:55 p.m. Friday by the Narcotics Section on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Rodrigue was released on $3,000 bond.

—Jondre Wesley, 39, Franklin, was arrested at 4:46 p.m. Friday by the Narcotics Section on two warrants alleging failure to appear on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bail was set at $15,000.

—Dwayne Provost, 38, Jeanerette, was arrested at 11:25 p.m. Friday by the Narcotics Section on charges of failure to signal 100 feet prior to turning, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of marijuana, and on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of criminal neglect of family.

Bail was set at $26,318.80.

—Trevion Jackson, 19, Four Corners, was at 7:10 p.m. Friday by the Narcotics Section on charges of window tint violation, switched plate, flight from an officer, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.

Jackson was released on a $75,000 bond.

—Leroy Jackson III, 47, Four Corners, was arrested at 7:10 p.m. Friday by the Narcotics Section on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.

Jackson was released on a $50,000 bond.
—Dylan Blake Alexis, 19, New Iberia, was arrested, at 11:40 a.m. Friday on charges of improper lane usage, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Alexis also held a New Iberia Police Department warrant for attempted second-degree murder. Alexis is being held for another agency.

—Crystal Renee Rubin, 36, Breaux Bridge, was arrested at 11:21 a.m. on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail has not been set.

—Tracie Lynn Dudek, 41, Thibodaux, was arrested at 4:16 p.m. Friday on a war-rant alleging failure to appear on the charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug para0phernalia. Bail has not been set.

—Machele Jade Brasher, 40, Houma, was arrested at 1:05 a.m. Saturday on charges of possession of marijuana, driving under suspension, switched or stolen license plate and failure of owner to secure registration, and on a Lafourche Parish warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of identity theft.

Brasher was transferred to another jurisdiction.

—Crystal Lynn Duplantis, 37, Houma, was arrested at 1:05 a.m. Saturday on a Lafourche Parish warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of theft. Duplantis was transferred to another jurisdiction.

—Juan Keith Doir Shearron, 33, Baldwin, was arrested at 2:59 p.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Bond was set at $500.

—Bobby D’Angelo Jackson, 34, Franklin, was arrested at 10:08 a.m. Sunday on charges of criminal damage to property and battery of a dating partner. Bail was set at $4,000.

—Shawn Case Lovell Sr., 44, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 9:41 a.m. Sunday on a charge of simple battery. Lovell was released on a summons to appear Aug. 26.

—Jerell Antoine Jones, 30, Patterson, was arrested at 4:19 p.m. Sunday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of criminal neglect of family. Bond was set at $2,778.

Franklin

Police Chief Morris Beverly said the Franklin Police Department responded to 24 complaints over the past weekend and made these arrests:

—Mark Thomas, 57, Mechanic Street, Franklin, was arrested at 10:45 p.m. Friday on two counts of aggravated assault. Thomas was booked, processed and released on a $3,000 bond.

—Chris Baptiste, 54, Eighth Street, Franklin, was arrested at 7:37 p.m. Saturday on a charge of monetary instrument abuse. Baptiste was booked, processed and held on a $500.00 bond.

—Erin Peters, 38, Martin Luther King Boulevard, Lafayette, was arrested at 12:09 a.m. Monday on the charges of disturbing the peace (public intoxication) and remaining where forbidden. Peters was booked, processed and held on a $1,500 bond.
