Sexual battery, indecent behavior with juveniles alleged in weekend arrests

Berwick police arrested a man charged with sexual battery against a juvenile and another man accused of trying use counterfeit money.

Police in Morgan City and Franklin also made arrests alleging indecent behavior with juveniles.

Berwick

Police Chief David S. Leonard reported these arrests:

--Glynn Guidry, 42, Carline Street, Berwick, was arrested at 12:29 p.m. Friday on warrants alleging con-tributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and misdemeanor sexual battery.

On Friday, officers traveled to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center and located Guidry, who was incarcerated at the facility. Guidry held an active warrant through the Berwick Police Department.

Guidry was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the outstanding warrants.

The warrants stem from an ongoing investigation that was started in June. Through the course of the inves-tigation, it was learned that Guidry had provided and allowed a juvenile to consume marijuana and alcohol in his presence.

It was also learned that Guidry had inappropriately groped the juvenile at one point. Following the booking, Guidry was transported back to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for incarceration.
--Dustin Fitch, 35, Mercury Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:04 a.m. Sunday on a charge of monetary instrument abuse.

About 12:48 a.m. Sunday, the Berwick Police Department received a call from a local business in reference to a customer trying to pass a counterfeit bill.

Officers responded and made contact with Fitch.

During the course of the investigation, it was learned that Fitch attempted to pass the fake bill at some point. Fitch was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where he was booked.

--Danny Andorf, 47, Francis Street, Berwick, was arrested at 10:33 p.m. Saturday on charges of possession of marijuana (under 14 grams), possession of drug paraphernalia, stop sign violation, no insurance and driving under suspension and on a Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant.

About 10:20 p.m. Saturday in the area of Bowman Street, officers observed a vehicle disregard a stop sign. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle, and officers made contact with Andorf.

Andorf he admitted to having a marijuana cigarette on his person. A search of the vehicle was conducted, at which time a glass smoking pipe with methamphetamine residue was located. A computer check showed that the vehicle did not have insurance and that Andorf’s license was suspended.

It was also learned that Andorf had an active warrant through the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office. Andorf was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where he was booked. A hold was placed for the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant.

--Jacoby Lively, 32, Church Street, Jeanerette, was at 11:28 p.m. Sunday on charges of possession of marijuana (under 14 grams), speeding 77 mph in a 55 mph zone, open container and driving under suspension and on an Iberia Parish warrant alleging failure to appear.

--Brandon Eugene, Dale Street, New Iberia, was arrested at 11:28 p.m. Sunday on a St. Mary Parish warrant alleging failure to appear.

About 10:42 p.m. Sunday, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding 77 mph in a 55 mph zone. zone. Officers made contact with Lively and Eugene in the vehicle. During the course of the stop, Lively was found to be in possession of marijuana and had open alcoholic beverages inside the vehicle.

A warrants check showed that Lively had an active warrant through the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office and Eugene had an active warrant through the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Lively and Eugene were placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department. Lively was booked on the Sunday charges, and Eugene was booked on St. Mary Parish warrant.

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 87 complaints made these arrests
--Luis Ivan Garcilazo, 19, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 11:55 a.m. Friday on a warrant alleging failure to appear for theft of a motor vehicle and criminal trespassing. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Juvenile male, 16, Franklin, was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Friday on charges of entry or remaining on premises after being forbidden and resisting arrest or officer. The juvenile male was released into the custody of a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

--Pearl Marie Ross, 38, Amelia, was arrested at 7:02 p.m. Saturday on charges of domestic abuse aggravated assault and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ross was released on her own recognizance.

--Evan Michael Frederick, 20, New Iberia, was arrested at 12:30 a.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated, speeding over 25 mph, and reckless operation (no accident). Frederick was released on a $3,500 bond.

--Christa Maria Conner, 22, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:14 p.m. Sunday on charges of domestic abuse battery and disturbing the peace by language. Bail has not been set at this time.

Morgan City

Interim Police Chief Mark E. Griffin Jr. reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 101 calls for service over the last 72-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Glynn Anthony Guidry Jr., 42, Carline Street, Berwick, was arrested at 10:30 a.m. Friday on charges of indecent behavior with juveniles and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

--Kristen Marie Hamilton, 33, Roderick Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:03 p.m. Friday on a charge of simple battery.

--Jarvis Darrel Granger, 36, Joseph Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:55 p.m. Friday on a charge of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Craig O’Neal Robinson, 34, First Street, Morgan City, was arrested on a charge of possession of methamphetamine and on four counts of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Parker H. Loring, 28, NW Four Avenue, Boca Raton, Florida, was arrested at 1:40 a.m. Saturday on charges of en-try or remaining where forbidden and possession of a firearm in an alcohol establishment.

--Michael Lance Hill, 56, Daniel Drive, Vance, Alabama, was arrested at 2:18 a.m. Saturday as a fugitive from the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Patterson

Police Chief Garrett Grogan reported this arrest:

--Dicie E. Gutierrez, 38, Cremo Street, Patterson, was arrested at 8:36 p.mn. Sunday on charges of resisting an officer (failure to comply), driver’s license suspended or revoked, and stop sign violation.

Gutierrez was incarcerated at the Patterson Police Department Jail.

Assumption

-- Sheriff Leland Falcon reported this arrest:

-- David Wade Woods Jr., 37, Cremo Lane, Patterson, was arrested on charges of simple criminal damage to property and violation of a protective order.

The arrest resulted from a domestic incident at an RV park in Pierre Part on April 6.

On April 6, deputies responded to a disturbance call and made contact with the complainant-victim.

Deputies determined that Woods was involved in a domestic incident in Livingston Parish, which resulted in this same victim filing an order of protection against Woods.

In the most current incident in Pierre Part, Woods is accused of banging on the victim’s door and breaking a glass. The suspect then left the scene. While the deputy was interviewing the victim, the suspect called and lodged additional threats towards the victim.

Woods was arrested by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office on July 10 and was later booked into the As-sumption Parish Detention Center. Woods remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.

Franklin

Police Chief Morris Beverly reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 18 complaints over the past weekend and these arrests:

--Carey Thorton, 19, Hawkins Street, Franklin, was arrested at 6:51 p.m. Friday on a charge of theft. Thorton was booked, processed and released to appear in 3rd Ward City Court.

--Bryson Constantine, 28, Vendredi Drive, Lafayette, was arrested at 10:15 a.m. Saturday on warrants dated Feb. 23, 2017, alleging computer-aided solicitation of a minor and indecent behavior with juveniles. Constantine was booked processed, and held on a $20,000 bond.
