Seven drug-related arrests by deputies, Morgan City police

The weekend was another busy one for drug enforcement in east St. Mary, where sheriff’s deputies and Morgan City police made seven arrests on drug possession or paraphernalia charges.

St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith re-ported these arrests:
—Michele Lea Bertrand, 36, Patterson, was arrested at 9:34 a.m. Friday on charges of traffic control signals and possession of marijuana (second offense). Bertrand was released on a summons to appear June 24.
—Deandre Jackson, 21, Patterson, was arrested at 9:47 p.m. Friday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Jackson was released on a summons to appear June 24.
—Derick Alexander, 33, Baldwin, was arrested at 6:27 p.m. Sunday by the Narcotics Section on charges of possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of a firearm or carrying a concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies; on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charge of speeding; and on an Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant alleging attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons.
Alexander is being held for another agency.
—Craig Anthony Alexander Sr., 39, Baldwin, was arrested at 1:21 a.m. Friday on charges of possession of a legend drug without prescription, open container, and turning movements and required signals. Alexander was released on a summons to appear June 24.
—Lauren Elaine McCoy, 33, Franklin, was arrested at 3:30 a.m. Friday on charges of for turning movements or required signals, possession of Schedule I drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $500.
—Deontay Jones, 25, Patterson, was arrested at 5:19 p.m. Thursday by the Narcotics Section on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charges of possession of marijuana; operating a vehicle while license is suspended, revoked or canceled; and operating a vehicle with an unlit license plate. Jones was released on a $3,500 bond.
—Crisogono Garcia, 34, Highlands, Texas, was arrested at 8:18 p.m. Friday on charges of reckless operation and no insurance. Garcia was released on a summons to appear June 24.
—Gabriel Laverne Keys III, 50, Jeanerette, was arrested at 8:19 p.m. Friday on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated). Keys was released on a summons to appear June 24.
—Kristie Lynn Blanchard, 44, Berwick, was arrested at 1:12 p.m. Saturday on a charge of resisting an officer by giving false information and on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. Bail has not been set.
—Derek P. Mayea, 40, Garden City, was arrested at 7:53 p.m. Saturday on charges of leash law and unlawful ownership of a dangerous dog. Mayea was released on a summons to appear June 24.
—Whitney Gerica Thomas, 34, Franklin, was arrested at 6:46 a.m. on charges of for failure to dim headlights and no insurance. Thomas was released on a summons to appear June 24.
—Charlene M. Bell, 66, Baldwin, was arrested at 10:05 a.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging disturbing the peace at a funeral. Bell was released on a summons to appear June 24.
—John Godfrey Peltier, 65, Centerville, was arrested at 4:40 p.m. Thursday on charges of reckless operation (no accident), no seat belt and driving while intoxicated (first offense). Bail has not been set.
—Kevin James Diggs, 45, Franklin, was arrested at 12:12 p.m. Friday on charges of turning movements and required signals and driving under suspension. Diggs also held four warrants alleging failure to appear on chargers of battery on a dating partner; simple assault; improper lane usage; operating a vehicle while license is suspended, revoked or canceled; and improper use of registration, license plates or license.
Bail has not been set.

Morgan City
Police Chief James F. Blair reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 115 calls for service over the last 72-hour reporting period and made these arrests beginning Friday:
—William J. Hayes Jr., 42, Mike Drive, Patterson was arrested at 6:01 p.m. Saturday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and expired license plate.
—Ariel Elizabeth Folse, 21, Onstead Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:18 p.m. Friday on charges of hit-and-run driving, no insurance and careless operation of a motor vehicle.
—Michael Coussan, 57, River Road, Berwick, was arrested at 11:15 a.m. Friday on charges of driving while intoxicated (second offense), reckless operation of a motor vehicle, possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, ignition interlock device required and driving under suspension
—Gary Wayne Sykes, 44, Gen. Patton, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:57 p.m. Friday on a charge of domestic abuse battery.
—Michael Antoine Robin-son, West Bellfort, Houston, Texas, was arrested at 5:15 p.m. Friday on a warrant alleging monetary instrument abuse.
—Brandie Ann Ramsour, 42, River Road, Berwick, was arrested at 5:15 p.m. Friday on a warrant alleging three counts of monetary instrument abuse.

Franklin
Police Chief Morris Beverly reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 18 complaints over the past weekend and made these arrests:
—Darren Holmes, 63, Chitimacha Trail, Baldwin, was arrested at 2:29 p.m. Friday on a charge of theft. Holmes was booked, processed and released on a $1,500 bond.
—Justin Webb, 38, Louisiana Steet, Jeanerette, was arrested at 4:07 p.m. Friday on the charges of simple robbery and disturbing the peace. Webb was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
—Charles Foulcard, Jr., 35, Carl C. Foulcard Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 12:07 a.m. Sunday on the charges of aggravated flight from an officer and resisting an officer. Foulcard was booked, processed and re-leased on a $10,000 bond.
