Region's police agencies make four domestic abuse arrests

 (Editor’s Note: The charges listed here and the narratives that go with them are provided by the police agencies that made the arrests. Guilt or innocence has not been determined in court.)

A short list of arrests in the region’ s police reports Wednesday included four apprehensions on domestic abuse charges.

Morgan City
Police Chief James F. Blair reportd that over the last 24-hour period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to four calls for service and made these arrests:
—Brandon Londell Durkins, 30, Union Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:19 p.m. Tuesday on charges of domestic abuse battery (strangulation), domestic abuse (child endangerment) and two counts of domestic abuse battery.
—Randy Gerone Clark, 34, Brashear Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday on a 16th Judicial District Court warrant for failure to appear for revocation.
—Eric Spencer Gaskins, 50, Apple Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:44 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for five counts of failure to appear for trial in 6th Ward Court.
—Jace Dehart, 23, Egle Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:24 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Franklin
Police Chief Morris Beverly said the Franklin Police Department responded to nine complaints over the past 24 hours and made the following arrests:
—Ahtajday Phillips, 19, Anderson Street, Franklin, was arrested at 7:46 a.m. Monday on a warrant dated March 3 for domestic abuse battery and illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities. Phillips was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.

St. Martin
Sheriff Becket Breaux reported these arrests:
—Elton Case, 38, Antoine Lane, St. Martinville, was arrested Tuesday on charges of domestic abuse (child endangerment), domestic abuse aggravated assault and simple criminal damage to property.
—Jeremy Barton, 45, Herman Dupuis Road, Breaux Bridge, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for second-degree battery.
—Joshua Decoux, 31, Jane Street, New Iberia, was arrested on a charge of theft valued at $1,000-$4,999.
—Shaun Joseph, 48, Gecko Road, Breaux Bridge was arrested Tuesday on warrants for failure to appear on charges of possession of Schedule II drugs, simple possession of marijuana and obstruction of justice.
—Jessie Patin, 29, Field Street, New Iberia, was arrested Tuesday by the Henderson Police Department on an extradition warrant.

St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith advised that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 37 complaints and made this arrest:
—Joshua James Folks, 42, Franklin, was arrested at 10:38 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of self-mutilation by a prisoner.
Folks continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Bail was set at $75,000.

Assumption
Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:
—Chad Michael Canella, 38, Fountain Bleau Drive, Prairieville, was arrested Tuesday on charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of drup paraphernalia, disregarding a stop sign, and turning and movement signals required.
The arrest followed a Tuesday afternoon traffic stop in Pierre Part.
Uniformed patrol officers observed a vehicle commit traffic violations and initiated a stop of the suspect vehicle.
The deputies made contact with the driver, identified as Canella, and conducted an interview. Based on that interview, deputies summoned a K-9 unit to the scene.
The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff of the suspect vehicle and that produced a positive alert for the presence of controlled dangerous substances.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of meth amphetamine and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Canella was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
—David Terrebonne, 28, St. Charles Bypass Road, Thibodaux, was arrested Tuesday on felony theft and monetary instrument abuse charges.
The charges arose from unlawful transactions conducted at a video poker outlet in Napoleonville.
Those alleged illegal transactions involved fraudulent video poker cash out vouchers which were presented to the business as winning tickets on or about Jan. 6.
The aggregate amount of the three transactions was $1,082.10.
The owner of the video poker establishment discovered potential discrepancies between his records and those of the video poker machine company during the scheduled tally.
Detectives initiated an investigation and subserviently identified three suspects, one of whom was Terrebonne.
Detectives learned that Terrebonne was incarcerated in Jefferson Parish. On Tuesday, Terrebonne was transported to Assumption Parish and booked into the detention center pending a bond hearing.
Previously arrested in connection with this same event was Tyrone Q. Wilson, 35, Raymond Street, Houma.
Wilson was charged with counts felony theft and monetary instrument abuse.
Wilson posted a $75,000 bond and was released to Calcasieu Parish authorities March 15.
A third suspect remains at large. She is identified as Kamie Dupre, 25, McKinley Street, Houma, and she faces charges of: felony theft and monetary instrument abuse.
All three suspects are being investigated by other jurisdictions for related criminal activity.
