Police: Three arrested after attempts to flee

Morgan City, St. Mary and Assumption authorities each reported an arrest after an attempt to flee from officers, including Morgan City and St. Mary arrests that also resulted in drug charges, according to police reports.
Morgan City
Police Chief James F. Blair reported that over the last 24-hour period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 46 calls for service and made these arrests:
—Jarvis Granger, 34, Joseph Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:27 p.m. Sunday on charges of careless operation, no turn signals, aggravated flight from an officer, aggravated criminal damage to property, no driver’s license, resisting an officer, disturbing the peace, possession of marijuana (third offense) and possession of synthetic marijuana (second offense).
On Sunday, a patrol officer in the area of Apple Street saw a vehicle nearly strike another vehicle. The officer attempted to stop the driver of the vehicle when that driver began to flee from the officer.
During the pursuit, the driver, later identified as Granger, fled at a high rate of speed and ran off the roadway into a yard. Granger at one point stopped as the passenger attempted to exit the vehicle.
After the passenger exited the vehicle, he fled on foot, and the driver put the vehicle in reverse and rammed into the police unit. Granger then fled again before losing control of the vehicle at Second Street and Onstead Street, striking a shed.
Granger then attempted to flee on foot but was caught. Granger was placed under arrest, and officers found arijuana and synthetic marijuana. Granger was placed under arrest and officers are attempting to identify the passenger.
—Hobie Cunningham, 36, Houma, was arrested at 5:57 p.m. Sunday on charges of no turn signal, no insurance and driving under suspension.
—Jordan Granger, 32, North Everett Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:23 p.m. Sunday on Morgan City Court warrants for contempt of court, expired driver’s license and disturbing the peace.
—Natalie Lowe, 32, Terrebonne Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:36 a.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to appear in Morgan City Court on a charge of criminal trespassing.
St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith advised that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 44 complaints and made these arrests:
—Cecil Dale Stroud Jr., 45, Alexandria, was arrested at 11:45 p.m. Sunday on charges of driving on roadway laned for traffic, driving while intoxicated (third offense), open container, resisting an officer by flight, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
No bail has been set.
—Rondon Charles Caesar, 44, Baldwin, was arrested at 9:46 p.m. Sunday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and parole violation. Caesar also held a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (second offense), possession of marijuana, operating a vehicle while license is suspended, revoked or canceled, and improper lane usage. No bail has been set.
Assumption
Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:
—Quentin Quendell Joseph was arrested Sunday on charges of aggravated flight from an officer, speeding 99 mph in a 55 mph zone, no driver’s license, and expired or canceled license plate.
A uniformed patrol officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation Sunday and initiated a stop of that vehicle.
The suspect vehicle engaged in a pursuit. The deputy was able to maintain contact with the suspect vehicle and was able to halt the pursuit.
The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Joseph and immediately arrested him.
Joseph was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center and released on a $50,000 bond.
—Candice Lee Ross, East Garner Drive, Morgan City, was arrested Saturday on charges of possession of Xanax and possession of marijuana (second offense).
The arrest followed an incident in Bayou L’Ourse on Saturday night.
Deputies were dispatched to a Moffett Court address in connection with a disturbance complaint. The complainant advised that he was involved in a disagreement with another individual.
The investigating deputy left the complainant and patrolled the area to attempt to located the other party.
The deputy observed a vehicle parked nearby and approached the vehicle. At this time, the deputy recognized Ross and was aware that Ross was a fugitive from St. Mary Parish. Ross was arrested.
Ross was found to have been in possession of marijuana and multiple doses of Xanax.
Ross was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center with a bond set at $10,000.
—Kyleigh Tate Campbell, 20, Lod Stafford Road, Walker, was arrested Saturday on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
On Saturday evening, deputies were dispatched to the Shane Street and Mary Ann Street areas in connection with a fight amongst several individuals.
That investigation resulted in deputies locating suspected marijuana and a firearm during a consent search of a vehicle at the location of the fight. The firearm and marijuana were in a vehicle in the control of Campbell.
Deputies also located marijuana in the possession of a vehicle in the control of Thomas Fontenot.
Campbell was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center and later released on a $15,000 bond.
Fontenot was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and released.
St. Martin
Sheriff Becket Breaux reported these arrests:
—Alexander, Johnnie, 39, Tolbert Drive, Baton Rouge, was arrested Sunday by the Breaux Bridge Police Department on charges of computer-aided solicitation of a minor and indecent behavior with a juvenile.
—Joseph Broussard, 37, Suard Road, New Iberia, was arrested Sunday on charges of domestic abuse battery, simple robbery, criminal trespass, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, simple criminal damage to property, criminal mischief (tampering with the property of another) and stalking.
—Brandon Jacobs, 33, Mouton Avenue, St. Martinville, was arrested Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear.
—Joshua Verret, 35, Lemon Road, St. Martinville, was arrested Sunday on warrants for failure to appear on charges of simple criminal damage to property, and simple burglary of a movable or immovable, and on an extradition warrant.
