Police: Man fled, hit vehicle
A Morgan City man was arrested Monday after trying to flee from a traffic stop and hitting another vehicle, Police Chief James F. Blair said.
—Joseph Jerome Jessie, 41, Utah Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:52 p.m. Tuesday on charges of driving on right side of road, aggravated flight from an officer, aggravated obstruction of a highway and licensee to have a license in immediate possession.
Narcotics detectives with the Morgan City Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the area of La. 182 and U.S. 90 for a traffic violation. Detectives identified the driver as Jessie.
During the traffic stop, investigators observed Jessie attempting to conceal suspected illegal narcotics. Jessie then placed his vehicle in drive and accelerated away from officers.
He fled west on U.S. 90 and was later involved in a crash with a second vehicle.
He was taken into custody, and a warrant check revealed the 16th District Court held an active warrant for his arrest. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

—Bailee Marie Loupe, 20, Chester Bowles, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:11 p.m. Tuesday on charges of turning movements and required signals, possession of marijuana (first offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of MDMA, possession of Alprazolam, and violation of controlled dangerous substance laws-drug free zone.
Narcotics detectives with the Morgan City Police Department located Loupe in the area of Sixth Street and McArthur Street and placed her under arrest on an active warrant held by the Morgan City Police Department. She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
—Xavian Marquis Dunn, 23, Main Street, Bude, Mississippi, was arrested 11:48 p.m. Monday on a charge of domestic abuse battery.
Officers were called to an address on Allison Street for a disturbance. They learned Dunn had committed a battery on his dating partner. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith reported these arrests:
—Ricky David Pillaro, 64, First Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of methamphetamine. No bail has been set.
—Jarvis Melton, 34, Garber Street, Morgan City, was arrested 11:33 a.m. Tuesday on charges of reckless operation and driver must be licensed. Melton was released on a summons to appear Dec. 11.
—Danyelle Johnson, 35, Francis Street, New Iberia, was arrested at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of theft. Johnson was released on a summons to appear Dec. 11.
—Damien Aurelius Hale, 30, Becnal Street, Franklin, was arrested at 7:08 p.m. on charges of domestic abuse battery by strangulation and disturbing the peace intoxicated. Bail was set at $1,000.
Patterson Police Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:
—Derrick Gerbaud Dugar, 30, Como Street, Patterson, was arrested at 6:21 p.m. Monday on charges of disturbing the peace and assault-simple. He was released on a $544 bond.
—Busch Deron Sereal, 42, Maude Avenue, Abbeville, was arrest at 1:43 a.m. Tuesday on charges of speeding 85 mph in a 55 mph zone and reckless operation. He was released on a $691 bond.
