Patterson town hall meetings honored with award

On Saturday in Alexandria, the Patterson city government won a Louisiana Municipal Association first place for Outstanding Community Improvement in Technology & Creativity. The award was for a series town hall meetings exploring gun violence, drugs and home invasion. The city government thanked Julia May-Sterling, Holden Murray, Sylvia May-Fields, Carrie Johnson and neighboring communities. On hand for the award presentation were Mayor Rodney Grogan and council members Miranda Weinbach, Lee Condolle, Mamie Perry, Demale Bowden and Ray Dewey Sr.
