Patterson High grad has key Coast Guard post

Capt. C.C. Culotta currently serves as the chief of officer evaluations at the Coast Guard Personnel Service Center in Washington, DC. He is responsible for managing the Officer Evaluation System for the entire Coast Guard officer corps, approximately 8,600 officers.
Prior operational assignments include serving as a deckwatch officer and maritime law enforcement boarding officer on U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Decisive (WMEC 629), marine inspector and investigating officer at marine safety office New Orleans, and chief, vessel boardings and security at sector San Francisco where he planned and executed anti-terrorism operations including armed ports, waterways, and soastal security boardings and positive control measures on high interest vessels.
Following graduate school, Culotta managed the Coast Guard’s Attaché program and served as a policy staff officer. Subsequently, he served as chief of the Maritime Counter-Smuggling Division and then spent two years as a liaison to the Department of Homeland Security.
Culotta is a graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree with honors in Marine and Environmental Science. His personal awards include the Coast Guard Meritorious Service Medal, Coast Guard Commendation Medal, Coast Guard Achievement Medal, the Commandant’s Letters of Commendation, and the Coast Guard 9/11 Medal.
He hails from Louisiana and is a graduate of Patterson High School.
