Musical variety on the bill for 2022-23 community concert series

Caribbean and flamenco rhythms, Broadway tunes, Seventies rock, country and hits made famous by pop divas are the Morgan City Community Concert Association scheduled for the 2022-23 season.

The association is offering adult season tickets for all six shows for $45. Season tickets for K-12 students are $10. Individual show tickets are $25 for adults and $5 for students.

All concerts are at 7 p.m. at Morgan City Municipal Auditorium.

This three-woman act “with powerhouse voices sing the biggest hits of the greatest divas in music history.”
Divas3 covers music from the 1960s through the 1990s by Aretha Franklin, Carole King, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Cher, Dolly Parton, ABBA and more.

Sultans of String

The Canadian group combines Spanish flamenco, Arabic folk, Cuban and Django-jazz rhythms “celebrating musical fusion and human creativity with warmth and virtuosity. … Fiery violin dances with rumba-flamenco guitar while bass lays down unstoppable grooves.”

Chester Gregory

Gregory portrayed Berry Gordy in “Motown the Musical” for two years. His other Broadway credits include “Hairspray,” “Tarzan,” “Cry-Baby” and “Sister Act.”
He has toured nationally with “Dreamgirls,” “Sister Act” and his own one-man show “The Eve of Jackie Wilson.”

Vinyl Radio

The four-man group “comes at you with a wash of vocal power and a righteous regard for the great rock-n-roll music of the 70s.”

Vinyl Radio performs the music of the Eagles, America, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Bad Company, the Doobie Brothers, Boston, Aerosmith, Styx, Queen, Led Zeppelin and more.
