Morgan City police, St. Mary deputies make aggravated assault arrests

The Morgan City Police Department and the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office each made an aggravated assault arrest Thursday.

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 38 complaints and made these arrests:

—Gabriel Laverne Keys III, 50, Jeanerette, was arrested at 4:54 p.m. Thursday on charges of disturbing the peace (language) and aggravated assault. Keys was released on a $2,000 bond.

—Beau Kevin Boudreaux, 43, Lafayette, was arrested at 3:59 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Bail was set at $64,108.44.

—Eric John Shelton, 36, Jeanerette, was arrested at 11:50 p.m. Thursday on a charge of for driving while intoxicated. Shelton was released on a $2,500 bond.

Morgan City

Interim Police Chief Mark Griffin reported that over the last 24-hour period, the Morgan City Police Department re-sponded to 37 calls for service and made these arrests:

—Steven Poole, 43, Mallard Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:49 p.m. Thursday on a charge of battery on a dating partner (strangulation), aggravated assault and resisting an officer.

—Leroy J. Bailey, 36, Mount Street. Morgan City, was arrested at 11:42 a.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

—Mark A. Eugene, 57, Terrebonne Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:05 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
