Morgan City police make arrest on heroin, meth charges

A Morgan City man was arrested Saturday and accused of possession with intent to distribute heroin and methamphetamine, arrest reports say. Also Saturday, the Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman accused to distributing two prescription drugs.

Morgan City
Police Chief James F. Blair reported that over the last 72-hour period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 115 calls for service and made these arrests:
—Herman L. Sonnier Jr., 53, David Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:07 p.m. Saturday on charges of introduction of contraband into a penal institution, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer.
—Zachariah Joy, 52, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:18 p.m. Friday on a charge of disturbing the peace (drunkenness).
—Olandis C. Hale, 50, Pine Crest Lane, Mobile, Alabama, was arrested at 8:36 p.m. Friday on a charge of driving while intoxicated (first offense), reckless operation of a motor vehicle and driving under suspension.
—Zyshonna Starks, 23, Violet Street, Thibodaux, was arrested at 10:54 a.m. Saturday on a charge of domestic abuse battery and domestic abuse (child endangerment law).
—Ashley N. Aucoin, 34, La. 317, Centerville, was arrested at 10:51 p.m. Saturday on 16th Judicial District Court warrants alleging failure to appear for arraignment and failure to appear for trial.
—Todd M. Carlin, 35, Gordon Street, Lafayette, was arrested at 11:26 p.m. Saturday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Zoe Rives, 22, Shell Beach Road, Pierre Part, was arrested at 9:55 a.m. Saturday on a 16th Judicial District Court warrant alleging two counts of failure to appear for arraignment.

St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 109 complaints and made these arrests:
—Kayla Inez Pope, 32, Jeanerette, was arrested at 10:46 a.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charges of possession of hydrocodone, distribution of tramadol and distribution of clonazepam. Bail has not been set.
—Colby Punch Jr., 21, Theriot, was arrested at 8:59 p.m. Friday on charges of no seat belt and possession of drug paraphernalia. Punch was released on a summons to appear March 17.
—Seth McElroy, 20, Theriot, was arrested at 8:59 p.m. Friday on charges of speeding, no driver’s license on person, no seat belt, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
McElroy was released on a summons to appear March 17.
—Hunter Michael Chauvin, 26, Houma, was arrested at 10:03 p.m. Friday on a charge of domestic abuse (child endangerment law). Chauvin was released on a $3,500 bond.
—Nathaniel Lawrence Wicks, 23, Houma, was arrested at 4:53 a.m. Saturday on two warrants alleging failure to appear on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction of public passage, possession of synthetic cannabinoids and reckless operation of a vehicle. Wicks was released on an $8,000 bond.
—Terrell Marguis Charles, 38, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:45 a.m. Sunday on a charge of driving under suspension. Charles was released on a summons to appear March 17.
—Demetrius Roy King Green, 33, Patterson, was arrested at 9:18 p.m. Sunday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of domestic abuse battery and on a Morgan City Police Department warrant alleging failure to appear on the charge of contempt of court. Bail has not been set.
Franklin
Police Chief Morris Beverly reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 22 complaints over the weekend and made these arrests:
—Damenn Stansbury, 53, SJ Lane, Franklin, was arrested at 12:41 a.m. Sunday on a warrant alleging theft and a 16th Judicial District Court warrant alleging failure to appear on the charges of possession of Schedule II drugs and obstruction of justice (tampering). Stansbury was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
—Mario Castellanos, 48, Anderson Street, Franklin, was arrested at 7:38 p.m. Sunday on a charge of domestic abuse battery. Castellanos was additionally arrested on a warrant alleging probation violation. Castellanos was booked, processed and held on a $3,500.00 bond.
