Morgan City, parish authorities make arrests on drunk driving, domestic abuse charges

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Morgan City Police Department each made one arrest on drunk driving charges and one on domestic abuse charges Thursday.

Morgan City
Police Chief James F. Blair reported that over the last 24-hour period, the Morgan City Police Department re-sponded to 36 calls for service and made these arrests:
—Trent H. Duhon, 27, St. Luke Street, Patterson, was arrested at 10:32 a.m. Thursday on charges of domestic abuse battery (strangulation), domestic abuse (child endangerment), possession of alprazolam and criminal damage to property.
—Rickie J. Hayes, 57, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:40 a.m. Thursday on a Morgan City Court warrant alleging failure to pay fine.
—Shane O. Suire, 26, Carrol Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:01 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving while intoxicated (second-offense), reckless operation of a vehicle, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, obstruction of justice (tampering with evidence) and driving under suspension.

St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith advised that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 31 complaints and made these arrests:
—Luis Antonio Reyes-Gonzales, 33, Patterson, was arrested at 9:37 p.m. Thursday on a charge of domestic abuse battery. Bail was set at $2,500.
—Wibray Dauntin, 27, Franklin, was arrested at 10:03 p.m. on charges of driving while intoxicated, open container and no driver’s license. Bail was set at $3,500.
