Mass will welcome three sisters to H-T Diocese posts

The Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux will celebrate a public Mass of Welcome for three sisters of the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux.
The Mass, celebrated by Bishop Simon Peter Engurait, will formally welcome the religious community as they begin their ministry among the people of the diocese.
Following the Mass, all are invited to a reception in St. Joseph’s Life Center until noon to meet the sisters and personally welcome them to the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.
Engurait invited the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary to establish a presence in the diocese as part of his vision to strengthen evangelization and Catholic identity in the local church.
The sisters will serve the diocese in a variety of roles. Sister Alyssa Renée will serve as director of the Office of Evangelization.
Sister Mary Rachel will serve in the Office of the Bishop, and Sister Clara Maria will join the Office of Catholic Schools.
All three sisters will have offices at the Diocesan Pastoral Center.
Founded by Mother Adela Galindo in the Archdiocese of Miami in 1990, the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary are a religious family dedicated to evangelization and the formation of the human heart.
Their Marian charism calls them to reflect the heart, person and mission of the Blessed Virgin Mary through prayer, formation and service.
Through their presence and ministry, the sisters will serve diocese parishes, schools and diocesan offices, accompanying the people of our diocese on their faith journey.
