Local authorities make arrests on marijuana, domestic abuse charges

St. Mary and Morgan City authorities made three arrests on marijuana or paraphernalia charges Thursday. Two men were charged with battery related to domestic abuse.

St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 36 complaints and made these arrests:
—Brody Gaspard, 19, Franklin, was arrested at 11:45 a.m. Thursday on a charge of domestic abuse battery. Gaspard was released on a summons to appear March 17.
—Rondell James Guy, 28, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:31 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charges of domestic abuse battery by strangulation and possession of marijuana. Bail has not been set.
—Kelli Muirhead, 21, Franklin, was arrested at 9:46 a.m. Thursday by the Narcotics Section on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Muirhead was released on a summons to appear March 17.
—Isaac Allridge III, 26, Gibson, was arrested at 11:44 a.m. Thursday by the Narcotics Section on charges of expired motor vehicle inspection, possession of marijuana, possession of THC edibles and possession of marijuana.
Allridge was released on a summons to appear March 17.

Morgan City
Police Chief James F. Blair reported that in the last 24-hour reporting period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 42 calls for service and made these arrests:
—Dontrell Lamar Amacker, 31, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:04 a.m. Thursday on a charge of domestic battery abuse.
—Taraneka Simpson, 24, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:04 a.m. Thursday on a charge possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Allen Hebert, 30, Roderick Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:10 a.m. Thursday on a charge of battery of a dating partner.
—Chad Michael Bertrand, 37, Joey Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:46 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving under suspension, no insurance, window tint violation and expired license plate, and on 16th Judicial District Court warrants alleging failure to appear for an imposition hearing and failure to appear for trial (two counts).
