Local agencies report eight arrests on drug charges

(Editor’s note: The charges listed here and the narratives that go with them are provided by the police agencies that made the arrests. Guilt or innocence has not been determined in court.)

St. Mary deputies and police in Morgan City and Franklin reported eight drug-related arrests over the weekend and on Monday.

Those arrests were in addition to three on drug and gun charges in Berwick (see related story).

Morgan City police also reported an arrest on home invasion and domestic abuse charges.

St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith reported these arrests:
—Kirk Michael Anslum, 40, Amelia, was arrested at 10:56 a.m. Sunday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, two counts of possession of Schedule IV drugs, possession of a legend drug without a prescription and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a person under 17.
Bail was set at $7,500.
—Lysa Marie Fabre, 35, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:56 a.m. Sunday on charges of possession of methamphetamines, turning movements and signals required, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a person under 17.
Bail was set at $1,500.
—Juan Jose Castellanos, 44, Matthews, North Carolina, was arrested at 10:56 a.m. Sunday on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana, obstruction of justice (tampering) and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a person under 17.
—Latiajanea Nicole Clay, 21, Jeanerette, was arrested at 12:41 p.m. Friday on a charge of cruelty to animals. Clay was released on a summons to appear June 15.
—Denia Marleny Bonilla, 40, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 1:32 p.m. Friday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charge of simple battery. Bail has not been set.
—April Michelle Johnson, 45, Baldwin, was arrested at 8 p.m. Friday on charges of brake lights required, no insurance, driving under suspension and seat belt required.
Johnson was released on a summons to appear June 15.
—Corey Thomas Tarver, 44, Patterson, was arrested at 8 p.m. Friday on a charge of littering. Tarver was released on a summons to appear June 15.
—Christian Druilhet, 23, New Iberia, was arrested at 10:11 p.m. Friday on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Druilhet was released on a summons to appear June 15.
—Earnest Lee Gaston Sr., 64, Houma, was arrested at 12:35 a.m. Saturday on charges of driver must be licensed, no insurance, switched or stolen license plate, and brake lights required. Gaston was also named in a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of failure to stop at a stop sign, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license and failing to honor a written promise to appear.
Bail has not been set.
—Mikayla Yevon-Marie Rock, 25, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:11 a.m. Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), resisting arrest or officer, resisting by failing to identify and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Bail was set at $30,000.
—Manuel Paul Fabre, 38, Patterson, was arrested at 2:35 p.m. Saturday on two warrants alleging failure to appear for speeding and expired motor vehicle inspection. Fabre was released on a completed sentence.
—Quindalyn Cooks, 29, Gibson, was arrested at 8:19 p.m. Saturday on two warrants alleging failure to appear for speeding and failing to honor a written promise to appear. Cooks was released on a $795 bond.
—Agnes Lightner White, 32, Franklin, was arrested at 12:10 a.m. Sunday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of possession of Schedule III drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, and on a complaint warrant for telephone harassment. Bail has not been set.
—Timothy James Jones, 33, Patterson, was arrested at 8:35 p.m. Sunday on a charge of possession of marijuana. Jones was released on a summons to appear June 15.
—Kendrick Matthews, 32, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:50 p.m. Sunday on a charge of reckless operation (no accident). Matthews was released on a summons to appear June 15.
—Justin Stratton, 32, Franklin, was arrested at 9:21 p.m. Friday on warrant alleging failure to appear for taking or possessing game fish illegally. Bail has not been set.

Morgan City
Police Chief James F. Blair reported these arrests:
--Taj Michael Broussard, 25, Texas Street, Lafayette, was arrested at 4:10 p.m. Friday on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, transactions involving proceeds from controlled dangerous substance activity, window tint, switched license plate and registration required.
-—Craig Stanley French, 52, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:55 p.m. Monday on a charge of domestic abuse battery-strangulation.
—Julia E. Castro, 54, Roderick Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:47 p.m. Friday on charges of battery of a dating partner and criminal damage to property.
—Cole Zephren Fruge, 30, Saturn Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:24 p.m. Saturday on charges of home invasion, domestic abuse battery and violation of a protective order.
—Emilio Eugenio, 62, West Park Road, Houma, was arrested at 8:17 p.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), reckless operation of a motor vehicle and no driver’s license.

Franklin
Police Chief Morris Beverly reported that the Franklin Police Department made these arrests:
—Ricky Webster, 61, Third Street, Franklin, was arrested at 8:25 p.m. Sunday on the charges of theft, resisting an officer and possession of marijuana. Webster was additionally arrested on a warrant dated March 2 and alleging theft. Webster was booked, processed and held on a $7,500 bond.
—Ann Delcambre Koenig, 26, Badt Avenue, Thibodaux, was arrested at 1:03 p.m. on a warrant for 17th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear for review of payments. Delcambre Koenig was booked, processed and transported to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office.
—Gary Jones, 54, Ibert Street, Franklin, was arrested at 1:03 p.m. Friday on a warrant dated Jan. 23 and alleging theft and criminal trespassing. Jones was additionally arrested on the charge of theft. Jones was booked, processed and held on a $3,500 bond.
—Susan Boyd, 58, Gumpoint Lane, Franklin, was arrested at 6:43 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for 3rd Ward City alleging failure to appear on the charge of remaining where forbidden. Boyd was booked, processed, and released to appear in 3rd Ward City Court.
