Local agencies make marijuana arrests

Patterson and Morgan City police reported arrests on marijuana charges Thursday and Friday, both in connection with other violations.

Patterson

Police Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Jacory D. Hall, 20, Blakesley Street, Franklin, was arrested at 8:51 a.m. Thursday on charges of criminal trespass, possession of marijuana (under 14 grams) and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Hall is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with no bond set.

--Derrick L. Turner, 44, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:04 p.m. Thursday on charges of no driver’s license and maximum speed limit.

Morgan City

Interim Police Chief Mark E. Griffin reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 66 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Darryl Darnel Winley, 32, Oregon Street, Berwick, was arrested at 2:06 a.m. Friday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, no driver’s license and following too closely.

---Darla Rose Percle, 34, Carmen Street, Patterson, was arrested at 3 p.m. Thursday on charges of probation violation (6th Ward Morgan City Court) possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of failure to appear for trial (16th Judicial District Court).

--Casey Nicole Eschete, 38, South Down Mandalay Road, Houma, was arrested at 6:59 p.m. Thursday on charges of simple battery, criminal trespassing, driving under suspension and insurance.

--Shelia Knight, 51, Fifth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:29 p.m. Thursday on a charge of disturbing the peace and interfering with a law enforcement investigation

--Martin Oma, Garcia-Soza, 46, Duke Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:59 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving while intoxicated (second offense), reckless operation of a motor vehicle, improper lights, improper turning, no driver’s license, no insurance and no registration.

--Kristie Lynn Blanchard, 44, River Road, Berwick, was arrested at 3;29 a.m. Friday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), driving under suspension, improper lane usage, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 29 complaints and made this arrest:

--Eroy J. Acosta Jr., 36, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 10:15 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Bail was set at $56,797.83.
