La. 182 resurfacing is getting underway

As work on the La. 182 bridge continues, the state is also launching a $6.6 million project to improve a portion of La. 182 in Morgan City.
The work was scheduled to begin Monday.
The Police Department, which issued a reminder to drivers Monday, said the project involves about 3.06 miles of La. 182 from near the intersection with Seventh Street to a point about 253 feel east of the railroad overpass.
Drivers should expect delays, the Police Department said.
Construction is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Expect Intermittent alternating lane closures throughout the project.
La. 182 will remain open to traffic, but motorists should allow additional travel time and be prepared for changing traffic patterns.
Emergency vehicles will continue to have access through the construction area; however, delays may occur.
Work will include pavement repairs, asphalt milling and overlay, roadway reinforcing mesh, curb ramp improvements, and other roadway upgrades.
The project is expected to continue through summer 2027.
“With construction beginning today, please use extra caution while traveling along La. 182,” the Police Department advised in a Facebook post. “Watch for construction workers, equipment, temporary signs, and lane closures.”
