Join Scouting Night will be Aug. 23 in Morgan City

Morgan City’s Cub Scouts Pack 438 and Boy Scouts of America Troop 49 are hosting a Join Scouting Night from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium’s theatre lobby. Boys and girls are invited for crafts, snacks and fellowship while learning what scouting can offer.

Cub Scouts is open to youth that are in kindergarten to fifth grade.

Highlights of being a member of Cub Scouts includes trips to NASA Space Center in Houston, hiking, camping, outdoor activities, cooking, fishing, smash ball, archery, BB guns, STEM, canoeing, Pinewood Derby and more. Cub Scouting is a year-round family-oriented program that combines fun educational activities and lifelong values, the scouting flyer states.

Boy Scouts offers many of the same activities such as hiking, canoeing, camping, ATV riding, fishing, BMX riding, life skills, community service and more. Meetings are every Thursday at 6 p.m. at 1504 Sandra St. in Morgan City.
