It's graduation day for Central Catholic

Central Catholic High School awarded diplomas to 36 seniors Saturday in a commencement ceremony and Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City.

Houma-Thibodaux Bishop Simon Peter Engurait celebrated the Mass and spoke to the graduates.

The valedictorian address was shared by Hannah Dalton, Addison Grizzaffi, Dominic Lipari, Gabriella Morice, Emmy Robison, Zoie Scully and Sophie Vining.

Lucille Kincaid and Bryan Wiggins read from the Bible, and Ava Grace Vaccarella led the prayers for the faithful.

Grant Wallace led a responsorial, and Zowie Lacoste-Minyard and Max Simmons were gift-bearers.

The class motto is "No such thing as a life that's better than yours," a quote from J. Cole.
