Ham Radio Week proclaimed in Morgan City

Members of the Bayouland Emergency Amateur Radio Service joined Morgan City Mayor Lee Dragna as he signed a proclamation declaring the week of June 16-22 to be Amateur Radio Week in the city. BEARS will be operating, along with thousands of other groups, June 22-23, for the U.S. Field Day. BEARS invites the public to visit the operation 2-6 p.m. Saturday. The station and open house are located upstairs at 201 Everett St. in downtown Morgan City. Ham operators will also be on hand to welcome visitors and give a tour of the station and answer any questions about ham radio.
