Gun, drug, theft charges after Bayou L'Ourse traffic stops

Assumption Parish deputies made a pair of arrests in the Bayou L’Ourse area Sunday, one of a man wanted in Morgan City on unauthorized use and theft charges, the other of a man booked on marijuana and weapon charges.

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:

--Kenneth John Scott III, 24, Riverview Drive, Patterson, was arrested Sunday on Morgan City Police Department fugitive warrants alleging unauthorized use of a movable (felony), hit and run and theft.

The arrest resulted from a traffic stop Sunday evening in Bayou L’Ourse.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a passenger in a vehicle dispose of litter through a window. The deputy initiated a stop of that vehicle and made contact with the driver, now identified as Scott.

The deputy interviewed the driver as well as three passengers. At the conclusion of those interviews, the deputy checked criminal histories and determined that Scott was wanted on fugitive warrants from the Morgan City Police Department.

Kenneth John Scott was arrested remains incarcerated pending a transfer to the Morgan City Police Department.

--Deiontre Hill, 22, Roma Drive, Breaux Bridge, was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana (over 14 grams) and failure to drive on the right side of the roadway.

The charges resulted from a traffic stop early Saturday morning on U.S. 90 near Bayou L’Ourse.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver and engaged the subject into an interview. The deputy concluded that additional investigation was warranted. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle.

During the search, deputies recovered a large-caliber firearm and a quantity of suspected marijuana.

Hill was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center. Hill posted a $15,000 commercial bond.

Morgan City

Police Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 110 calls for service over the last 72-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Shawn Michael Thompson, 45, Rose Park Lane, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:45 a.m. Friday on a charge of theft (under $1,000).

--Mason Willie Robinson, 27, West Second Street, Thibodaux, was arrested at 6:38 p.m. Friday on charges of speeding 75 mph in a 60 mph zone, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile and driving under suspension.

--Kelly Alexis Murihead, 22, Duke Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:06 p.m. Friday on a charge of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City).

--Jeffery Perrillioux, 55, La. 308, Lockport, was arrested at 9:24 p.m. Friday on charges of terrorizing, stalking and remaining after forbidden.

--Michael Anthony Francois Jr., 31, Grove Street, Morgan City, arrested at 12:04 a.m. Saturday on charges of simple burglary, simple battery, possession of marijuana, introduction of contraband into a penal facility and criminal damage to property.

--Nicholas Anthony Feliciano, 27, St. Clair Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:25 p.m. Sunday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and probation violation (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 84 complaints and made this arrest:

--Tanisha Wilkerson, 47, Siracusa, was arrested at 10:34 a.m. Saturday by the Narcotics Section on charges of window tint violation, possession of crack cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bail has not been set at this time.

Berwick

Police Chief David S. Leonard reported these arrests:

-- Samantha Williams, 34, California Street, Berwick, was arrested at 5:36 p.m. Saturday on charges of criminal trespassing and disturbing the peace.

About 5:21 p.m. Saturday, the Berwick Police Department received a call about a female at a residence on Robicheaux Alley causing a disturbance.

Officers located Williams. After speaking with the complainant, it was learned that Williams had been told not to return to the residence. Witnesses stated Williams was at the residence hollering and using profanities.

Williams was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where she was booked.

--Dylan Houck, 24, Susan Court, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:51 a.m. Sunday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

About 10:30 a.m. Sunday, the Berwick Police Department responded to a local business in reference to a suspicious persons complaint. Officers made contact with the described subject, who was identified as Houck.

During the course of the investigation, Houck was found to be in possession of marijuana, methamphetamine and items of drug paraphernalia. Houck was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where he was booked.

--Frank Rock Jr., 35, Andrews Street, Patterson, was arrested at 5:47 p.m. on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated, second offense) and criminal trespassing.

About 5:32 p.m. Sunday, the Berwick Police Department responded to a local business in reference to a male subject causing a disturbance and hollering at patrons on the property. Officers located Rock, who was in a highly intoxicated stated.

Officers spoke with the property owner, who advised that Rock was not invited to the property. Rock was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked.

Patterson

Police Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Jairo Martin Rivera Mendoza, 40, Lake Palourde Road, Amelia, was arrested at 3 p.m. Saturday on charges of obedience to traffic signs, no driver’s license, expired motor vehicle inspection, failure to carry registration, expired license plate and misuse of temporary license plate.

Mendoza is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $1,322.

--Brittany A. Gregorieff, 28, Darlene Street, Patterson, was arrested at 7:32 p.m. Saturday on charges of driving with license suspended or revoked, expired motor vehicle inspection, no headlights and no insurance. Gregorieff was released on a summons.

--Tamika Baker, 44, St. Lucy Street, Patterson, was arrested at 2:17 a.m. Sunday on a charge of disturbing the peace (language). Baker was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $332.

Franklin

Interim Chief Tina Thibodeaux reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 13 complaints over the past weekend and made this arrest:

--Theresa Lopez, 37, Ninth Street, Franklin, was arrested at 6:21 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). Lopez was booked, processed and released on a $2,500 bond.
