Green, Hidalgo named 86th La. Shrimp and Petroleum Festival royalty

Caroline Green and William H. “Billy” Hidalgo Jr. were crowned the 86th Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival royalty Sunday during a coronation held at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium.
The 86th Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival’s Labor Day weekend festivities were canceled by the festival board on Aug. 16 due to the COVID-19 resurgence in St. Mary Parish. The coronation was postponed twice due to COVID Delta variant and Hurricane Ida.
Bidding farewell were the 84th Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival King and Queen William “Bill” Cefalu and Leah Domangue, both of whom held the office since COVID-19 caused the cancellation of the 2020 festival.
