Five arrests Thursday on theft, burglary or stolen property charges

Five of the six Thursday arrests reported by Morgan City police and St. Mary Parish deputies involved charges of theft, possession of stolen things, identity theft or burglary.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 45 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:
--Roberto Antonio Guevara, 25, Murphy Road, Houston, was arrested at 6:02 p.m. Thursday on charges of monetary instrument abuse, possession of fraudulent documents, theft ($1,000-$5,000) and resisting an officer.
--Michael Lee Howard, 52, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:10 p.m. Thursday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
--Steven James Morris, 36, Egle Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:08 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of stolen things and improper turning, and as a fugitive from Probation and Parole.
St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 29 complaints and made these arrests:
--Michael Schexnider, 50, Franklin, was arrested at 3:42 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging theft and possession of stolen things. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Shanette Bernadett Marcotte, 44, Franklin, was arrested, at 2:24 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging identity theft. Bail was set at $7,500.
--William Ollie Ware III, 33, Franklin, was arrested at 4:26 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging simple burglary. Bail has not been set at this time.
Patterson
Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:
--Kevin Dore, 55, David Drive, Patterson, was arrested at 2:17 p.m. Wednesday on charges of no seat belt and open container. Dore was issued a summons.
--Oscar David Gomes Linares, 27, was arrested at 4:29 p.m. Wednesday on charges of stop sign violation and no driver’s license. Linares was issued a summons.
--Nylan Favors, 20, St. Lucy Street, Patterson, was arrested at 4:27 p.m. Thursday on two Patterson warrants. Favors is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail.
Franklin
Interim Chief Tina Thibodeaux reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to eight complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:
--Dereal Madison, 76, St. Joseph Lane, Franklin, was arrested at 9:36 a.m. Thursday on a warrant dated Dec. 9 alleging driving while intoxicated. Madison was booked, processed and released on a $2,500 bond.
--Gerald Dupas, 36, Iberia Street, Franklin, was arrested at 10:24 a.m. Thursday on warrants dated Feb. 15 alleging theft, battery of a dating partner, and violation of protective order. Dupas was additionally arrested on four counts of of resisting an officer by flight.
Dupas was booked, processed, and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
