Drug, drunken-driving, hit-and-run arrests reported by local agencies

(Editor’s note: The charges listed here and the narratives that go with them are provided by the police agencies that made the arrests. Guilt or innocence has not been determined in court.)

Morgan City and St. Mary Parish authorities made arrests on drug, drunken-driving and hit-and-run charges over the weekend. Franklin police reported an arrest on an aggravated battery charge in a domestic abuse case.

Morgan City

Interim Police Chief Mark E. Griffin Jr. reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 123 calls for service over the last 72-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

—Trina Nacole Clark, 49, Third Street, Berwick, was arrested at 1:20 p.m. Sunday on a charge of hit-and-run driving.

—Lee Paul Pierce, 39, 11th Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:11 a.m. Monday on charges of possession of marijuana, two counts of violation of a protective order and improper lighting.

—Cynthia Metrejean, 34, 11th Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:20 a.m. Monday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper lighting.

—Kelvin Javier Mendoza Garcia, 29, Glenwood Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:08 a.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), reckless operation of a motor vehicle, improper lane usage, no driver’s license and possession of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.

—Emilio Eugenio, 63, West Park Road, Houma, was arrested at 7 p.m. Friday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

—Jermaine Harrison, 23, Duke Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:01 p.m. Saturday on charges of driving under suspension and no seat belt.

—Demetrius Owens, 29, Orange Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11 a.m. Sunday on a charge of battery on a police officer and battery of a correctional
facility employee.

—Jarrett Appel, 32, County Road, Rosharon, Texas, was arrested at 6:01 a.m. Monday on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and obscenity.

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 114 com-plaints and made these arrests:

—Mickey Lewis Lanclos, 67, Centerville, was arrested at 11:05 p.m. Saturday on charges of for hit and run and reckless operation with accident. Lanclos was released on a $1,500 bond.

—Katelyn Louise Bourque, 26, New Iberia, was arrested at 1:41 p.m. Friday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail has not been set.

—Lateachies S. Washington, 33, Morgan City, was arrested at 1 p.m. Friday on a warrant alleging issuing worthless checks. Washington was released on a $500 bond.
—Brenton Wade King III, 43, Berwick, was arrested at 5:41 p.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charge of violation of a protective order. Bail was set at $2,500.

—Adam Wade Roy, 36, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:56 p.m. Saturday on an MCPD warrant alleging failure to appear on the charges of careless operation and no insurance. Roy also held a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of domestic abuse battery. Bail has not been set.

—Jermaine D. Harrison, 27, Berwick, was arrested at 8:12 p.m. Friday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charges of speeding, driving under suspension and no child restraint. Harrison was released on a summons to appear.

Franklin

Police Chief Morris Beverly reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 30 complaints over the weekend and made this arrest:

—Anastacia Burrell, 35, Myra Street, Franklin, was arrested at 11:39 a.m. Saturday on the charges of domestic abuse battery, aggravated battery and disturbing the peace. Burrell was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center
