Domestic, drug arrests reported by local agencies

Morgan City police reported domestic battery arrests Monday and early Tuesday, and St. Mary deputies made an arrest on drug charges over the weekend. Patterson police made five arrests after an incident on Leonard Street, and a Morgan City man is accused of driving away after his vehicle struck a Napoleonville hydrant.

Morgan City

Interim Police Chief Mark E. Griffin Jr. reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 41 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Chad Allen Ross Jr., 29, East Garner Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:50 a.m. Monday on charges of failure to appear for arraignment and six counts of failure to appear for trial (16th Judicial District Court).

--Pearl Marie Ross, 38, North Verret Street, Amelia, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. Monday on a charge of domestic abuse battery.

--Quijakius Quimonte Jashaun Johnson, 40, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday on charges of domestic abuse battery (child endangerment law).

--Martin Omar Garcia-Soza, 46, Duke Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2 p.m. Monday on a probation violation (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 92 complaints and made these arrests:

--Adrian Lynn Billiot, 40, Patterson, was arrested at 12:11 p.m. Monday on three warrants alleging failure appear on charges of simple battery, disturbing the peace, disturbing the peace, disturbing the peace (offensive words), entry or remaining on land after forbidden and possession of methamphetamine.

Bail was set at $60,000.

--Leonard Rhine, 39, Houma, was arrested at 5:06 a.m. Monday on charges of speeding, expired license plate, possession of marijuana, possession of MDMA and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.

Bail has not been set.

Patterson

Police Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Jayden D. Perez, 18, Oak Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:01 p.m. Monday on charges of criminal trespass and disturbing the peace. Perez was released on a $591 bond.

--Tessa E. Verret, 23, Clements Street, Patterson, was arrested at 1:01 p.m. Monday on charges of criminal trespass and disturbing the peace. Verret is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $591.

--Madison P. Herrington, 10, Florence Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:01 p.m. Monday on charges of criminal trespass and disturbing the peace. Herrington was released on $591 bond.

-0Kloey A. Cuvillier, 22, Wise Street, Patterson, was arrested at 1:01 p.m. Monday on charges of simple criminal damage to property, aggravated assault, criminal trespass and disturbing the peace. Cuvillier is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail. No bond has been set.

--Gregory J Payne, 19, Francis Street, Patterson, was arrested at 1:01 p.m. Monday on charges of disturbing the peace, simple criminal damage to property and criminal trespass. Payne is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with no bond set.

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported this arrest:

-- Todd Joseph Caldwell, 47, Tupelo Street, Morgan City, was arrested on charges of hit-and-run driving, driving under suspension, no driver’s license and expired motor vehicle inspection tag, and on Assumption warrants alleging speeding, driving under a suspended license and cruelty to animals.

The arrest grew out of a hit-and-run investigation on Philosopher Street in Napoleonville. The suspect vehicle struck a fire hydrant and fled from the scene.

Deputies were dispatched to the area and quickly located the suspected flatbed truck and arrested Caldwell as the driver.

Caldwell was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention pending a bond hearing.
