Crowing ceremony
Submitted photo
As part of their monthly meeting, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Massabielle, celebrated the month of May with a crowning ceremony. The Crowning of Mary is a traditional Catholic ritual held during May. The court’s statue of the Virgin Mary is crowned with a wreath of flowers to honor her as Queen of Heaven and Mother of Jesus Christ. The ceremony includes a procession, the singing of "Bring Flowers of the Rarest" and the offering of flowers. After the meeting, the flowers are brought to the Sacred Heart Church Grotto.
