Celebrating a century

Eva Mae Nini looks over her book, “Grandma Nini: 100 Years of Love & Laughter” during her 100th birthday celebration Oct. 7 with family and friends at The Brown House in Berwick. She told the crowd, “It is my birthday … it is a pleasure to see all of y’all.” Morgan City Mayor Louis Ratcliff presented her a key to the town, her son Jerry Nini, 81, presented her an American flag flown over the state capitol, and she heard stories from her family and friends along with other accolades. She was born Oct. 6, 1918, in Morgan City.
