Busy as bees

Wednesday was a big day at St. Mary library branches in the Tri-City area. In these photos, Paul Harvey, at right in the top photo, introduced children to bees and the role they play in making honey with a demonstration hive at the Bayou Vista branch. At the same time, youngsters were learning about nutrition in Amelia and making paper crowns in Patterson. The Morgan City Library, a separate entity, was ready to kick off its summer reading program Thursday.
