Boy Scout Dinner

Boy Scouts and Scouting supporters from the Evangeline Area Council gathered Thursday for the annual steak dinner fundraiser at the St. Mary Parish Senior Citizens Center in Morgan City. The council recognized the Founding Chefs of Chitimacha Scouting, who were named in 2014.
The Founding Chefs are Lynn Arceneaux, Irving Courtney, Raymond Beadle Sr., Clifford Chaisson, Cyrus P. Giroir, L.J. Giroir, James Guerin, Gilmore Guidry, Leon Kahn, T.R. Naquin, Dr. Carlos Orlando Sr., George Picou Sr. and Henry A. Swiber.
Also Thursday, seven more "Grumpy Chefs" who do the work in the kitchen to make the dinner successful were named.
Next year, the Evangeline Area Council will mark its 100th anniversary.
