Berwick restores water service after line break

Town of Berwick officials were able to restore water service to residents within about an hour Thursday after officials found a break in a main water line, Mayor Duval Arthur said. No boil order was necessary, the mayor said.

The main water line break was discovered at 6:39 p.m. Thursday on Thorguson Road in Berwick. That water line feeds the water tower on River Road.

Arthur called the incident “a big break,” but town crews repaired it within about 30 or 40 minutes. Officials don’t know what may have caused the water line to break.
