Authorities respond to tanker leak at gas station

Authorities responded just before 7:30 a.m. Monday to a report of a tanker truck leaking gasoline at Murphy USA gas station in the Walmart parking lot in Bayou Vista. The state police hazmat team was contacted to assess the situation. The spill was contained to the concrete and didn’t touch any soil, said Detective Whytley Jones, St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman. A cleanup crew was on scene Monday morning.
