Assumption joins effort to reduce drunken driving

The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office is participating in the in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, Sheriff Leland Falcon announced.

The Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration and the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission to patrol the highways of the parish from Friday through Sept. 5 in an effort to reduce impaired driving and serious motor vehicle accidents.

Funding is being made available through NHTSA and LHSC to the Sheriff’s Office to pay for the impaired driver’s enforcement campaign.
