Agencies across region report drug arrests

Drug-related arrests kept local authorities busy late last week, including three arrests resulting from Morgan City search warrants and four after traffic stops in Assumption.

Morgan City
Police Chief James F. Blair reported that over the last 24-hour period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 37 calls for service and reported these arrests:
—Brandy Kae Mills, 45, Aristile Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:10 a.m. Thursday on charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of Apidex, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of the uniform controlled dangerous substance laws (drug-free zone).
—Ethan M. Messman, 23, Taft Street, Patterson, was arrested at 1:10 a.m. Thursday on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of the uniform controlled dangerous substance laws (drug-free zone) and transactions involving proceeds from drug activity. He was also booked on a 16th Judicial District Court warrant for failure to appear for arraignment.
Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a motel room on Martin Luther King Boulevard. Investigators located Mills and Mensman inside the room.
During the search, investigators found Mills in possession of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, Adepix and drug paraphernalia. Detectives also located monies that were suspected proceeds from the sales of illegal narcotics.
Mensman was found in possession of marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. A warrant check revealed the 16th Judicial District Court held an active warrant for his arrest. The motel was within a drug-free zone. Mills and Mensman were transported to the Morgan City Police department for booking and incarceration.
—Dominique Angelle Fields, 28, Provost Drive, Houma, was arrested at 11:34 a.m. Thursday on charges of no inspection sticker, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Daniel Michael Elliot, 21, La. 182, Gibson, was arrested at 1:16 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for three counts of simple burglary.
—David Lennis Aucoin, 43, Chestnut Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:51 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of the uniform controlled dangerous substance laws (drug-free zone).
Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotic Division executed a search warrant on Chestnut Drive in Morgan City with the assistance of the St. Mary Sheriff's Narcotics Section.
During the investigation, Aucoin was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The residence was within a drug-free zone. He was transported to the Morgan City Police department for booking and incarceration.

Assumption
Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:
—Alizante Marie Patterson, 20, Grisaffe Lane, Belle Rose, was arrested Friday on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and speeding 70 mph in a 55 mph zone, for failure to appear and on a fugitive warrant.
—Torrainno Jarvis, 28, Pecan Street, Napoleonville, was arrested Friday on a charge of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and executed a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Patterson, and one passenger, Jarvis. The stop was conducted near Paincourtville.
The deputy summoned a K-9 unit to the scene of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of an illegal controlled substance.
During a subsequent vehicle search, a quantity of suspected marijuana was recovered.
Both suspects, Patterson and Jarvis, were arrested and incarcerated pending bond proceedings.
—Alison Anne Menuet, 45, La. 1, Napoleonville, was arrested Thursday on possession with intent to distribute methadone, possession with intent to distribute amphetamine, illegal use of a controlled dangerous substances in the presence of person under age 17, careless operation of a motor vehicle and driving under suspension.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. The deputy initiated a stop of the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Menuet.
The deputy interviewed the driver and as a result of that interview, the deputy requested consent to search. As a result of that process, a quantity of illegal controlled dangerous substances was recovered.
Menuet was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center and remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
—Jamal Lee Starks, 24, Violet Street, Labadieville, was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, transactions involving proceeds from controlled dangerous substance activity, illegal carrying of weapons in the presence of controlled dangerous substances and off-road vehicle on roadway.
Deputies responding to a complaint observed a dirt bike riding on a public roadway and initiated a violator stop. At that time, deputies proceeded to interview the dirt bike operator, now identified as Starks.
While interviewing Starks, deputies noted a black bag as well as a strong odor of suspected marijuana. At some point, the bag was inspected and found to contain suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a firearm and a significant amount of U.S. currency.
Starks was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
At the time of this arrest, Starks was out on two separate bonds, one on drug offenses and another on a third-degree rape charge.
—Chad Anthony Delcambre, 40, North Hidalgo Lane, Thibodaux, was arrested Friday on charges of driving under suspension, expired motor vehicle inspection tag, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A uniformed patrol officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation near Labadieville. The deputy initiated a stop of the vehicle. The deputy identified the violator as Delcambre.
During the interview, the deputy noted behavior consistent with illegal drug activity. The deputy summoned a K-9 unit to the scene. The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff and alerted to particular areas of the vehicle, suspect of illegal drug activity.
The vehicle was searched and quantities of marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were seized.
Delcambre was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Facility pending a bond hearing.

Patterson
Police Chief Garrett Grogan reported this arrest:
—Tara Lynn Hartrfore, 38, Fourth Street, Morgan City, was arrested Thursday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), open container and one way on a roadway.
Hartfore was jailed with a bond set at $3,250.

St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith advised that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 51 complaints and made these arrests:
—Lucas D. Landry, 20, Berwick, was arrested at 10:06 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Landry was released on a summons to appear Aug. 19.
—Juvenile female, 15, New Iberia, was arrested at 11:58 p.m. Thursday on a charge of possession of marijuana. The girl was released to the custody of a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
—Isyss Zynae Clay, 18, New Iberia, was arrested at 11:29 p.m. Thursday on charges of turning movements and required signals and resisting officer by flight. Bail was set at $1,750.
—Gregory Scott Payne, Sr., 45, Berwick, was arrested at 12:36 a.m. Friday on a charge of no license plate light and driving under suspension. Payne also held three warrants for failure to appear for criminal neglect of family. Bail was set at $76,419.40.
—Lonnie Ray Baker Jr., 29, Franklin, was arrested at 1:19 a.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Bail was set at $1,593.
—Nicholas Starkey, 24, Gray, was arrested at 2:09 a.m. Friday on charges of general speed law and driving under suspension. Starkey was released on a summons to appear Aug. 19.

Franklin
Police Chief Morris Beverly said the Police Department responded to 20 complaints in the 24-hour reporting period and made the following arrests:
—Aric Small, 31, Second Street, Franklin, was arrested at 3:39 p.m. Thursday on the charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and careless operation. Small was booked, processed and released on a $2,750. bond.
—Susan Boyd, 57, Gumpoint Lane, Franklin, was arrested at 5:58 p.m. Friday on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court for failure to appear on the charge of remaining where forbidden. Boyd was booked, processed and released to appear in 3rd Ward City Court.

St. Martin
Sheriff Becket Breaux reported these arrests:
—Dustin Johnson, 39, Main Street, St. Martinville, was arrested Thursday by the St. Martinville Police Department on a charge of aggravated battery.
—Carmen Becker, 47, B Street, New Iberia, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant for failure to appear.
—Todd Breaux, 25, Swain Street, Rayne, was arrested Wednesday on charges of illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities, obstruction of justice and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
—Santana Dore, 27, Delva Street, New Iberia, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of aggravated battery.
—Louis Hebert, 43, Sieber Road, St. Martinville, was arrested Tuesday by the St. Martinville Police Department on a charges of child endangerment/domestic abuse (aggravated), battery of a police officer, and resisting a police officer with force or violence.
—Marcus Menard, 50, St. Mary, Scott, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of violation of a protective order.
—Leah Rebert, 33, Coteau Holmes Highway, St. Martinville, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of illegal possession of stolen things, switched plates and driving on the right side of road.
