2 arrested in Morgan City on drug-related charges

A Thursday traffic stop resulted in arrests related to prescription drugs and a probation violation, Morgan City Police Chief James F. Blair said.
—Christine Maria Stoute, 45, Roderick Street, Morgan City, at 3:06 p.m. Thursday on charges of turning movement and signals required, operation a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, possession of Suboxone, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a legend drug (Gabapentin) without a prescription. Stoute was also arrested on a warrant for failure to appear
for trial.
—Katherine Victoria Stoute, 28, Mallard Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:06 p.m. Thursday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and on warrants for probation violation and three counts of failure to pay fine.
An officer on patrol observed a traffic violation in the area of Patton Street and Halsey Street.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Christine M. Stoute along with her passenger, Katherine V. Stoute. A computer check revealed Christine Stoute’s driver’s license was under suspension.
A warrant check revealed the City Court of Morgan City held active warrants for both Christine Stoute and Katherine Stoute.
During the traffic stop, officers located suspected drug paraphernalia in their possession.
Christine Stoute was additionally found in possession of suspected Suboxone, a drug used to treat opioid addiction, and Gabapentin, an anti-epileptic, without a prescription.
Blair also reported these arrests:
—Cotina Lana Walton, 38, Charlotte Drive, Patterson, was arrested at 10:17 a.m. Thursday on charges of turning movements and required signals and possession of drug paraphernalia.
An officer on patrol observed a traffic violation in the area of Brashear Avenue and Sixth Street.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified as Walton. During the traffic stop, Walton was found in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
—Demetris Owens, 27, Orange Street, Morgan City,  was arrested at 1:29 p.m. Thursday on a charge of domestic abuse battery.
Officers were called to a Wren Street address for a domestic disturbance. They learned Owens committed a battery on a family member. He was placed under and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
—Amanda Davis, 37, Wren Steet, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:55 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for contempt of court (violating terms of probation).
Davis was located at the Berwick Police Department and placed under arrest on an active warrant held by the City Court of Morgan City. She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reported these arrests:
—Robert Fair, 46, New Orleans, was arrested at 5:59 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving under suspension and speeding 36 mph in a 20 mph zone. fo
—Somer Higgs, 39, Morgan City,  was arrested at 6:26 p.m. Thursday on a charge of possession of marijuana.
 About 5:59 p.m. Thursday, Berwick officers were patrolling the area of River Road when they observed a vehicle traveling faster than the posted speed limit, and a traffic stop was conducted. After they made contact with the driver, Fair, a driver’s license check revealed that he was driving with a suspended driver's license.
Fair was placed under arrest and officers then made contact with his passenger, who was identified as Higgs. Higgs was found to be in possession of marijuana and was also placed under arrest.
Both were transported to Berwick Jail where Fair posted bond of $327.00 cash bond and Higgs posted bond of $2,000.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith reported these arrests:
—Cecilia Castillo, 29, Patterson, was arrested at 1:30 p.m. Thursday on seven counts of cruelty to animals.
Castillo was released on a summons to appear March 30.
—Derrick Matthews Turner, 40, Franklin,  was arrested at 11:45 a.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while license was suspended/revoked/canceled and operating a vehicle without proper required equipment. Turner released on a summons to appear March 30.
—Adrian John Hixon, 38, Centerville, was arrested at 1:36 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle while license was suspended/revoked/canceled. Hixon was released on a summons to appear on March 30, 2021.
—Juvenile male, 16, Baldwin, was arrested at 6:25 p.m. Thursday on a charge of simple battery. The juvenile male was released into the custody of a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
—Shana Jones, 34, St. Joseph, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Thursday by the Narcotics Section on a charge of reckless operation of a vehicle.  Jones was released on a summons to appear March 30.
—Kemper Batiste, 18, St. Joseph, was arrested at 4:28 p.m. Thursday by the Narcotics Section on a charge of possession of marijuana. Batiste was released on a summons to appear March 30.
—Travis L. Zeno Jr., 18, St. Joseph, was arrested at 4:28 p.m. Thursday by the Narcotics section on a charge of possession of marijuana.  Zeno was released on a summons to appear March 30.
Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:
—Dusty Raphael Allemand, 35, Cypress Street, Labadieville, was arrested Friday on charges of criminal trespassing and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Early Friday morning, deputies investigating a traffic and trespassing complaint near Delise Road located a side-by-side off-road vehicle on private property being operated by  Allemand.
Deputies interviewed Alleman and found him to be in possession of a rifle. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Allemand was a convicted felon.
At the time of the arrest, Alleman was out of jail on $75,000 bond for his arrest in the continuing Take a Ride operation for distribution of methamphetamine. Allemand was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
—Roger L. Ross, 38, La. 400, Napoleonville, was arrested Thursday on a charge  of distribution of crack cocaine.
As part of the continuing Take a Ride narcotics investigation, agents identified Ross as trafficking illegal narcotics in the Assumption Parish area.
During this investigation, agents obtained probable cause to secure an arrest warrant for   Ross.
On Thursday, Ross was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
St. Martin Parish Sheriff Becket Breaux reported these arrests:
—Kimberly Alexander, 41, Beaver Springs Drive, Houston, was arrested Thursday by the Breaux Bridge Police Department on charges of possession of Schedule II narcotics and failure to appear.
—Joshua Arceneaux, 35, Parkway Drive, Breaux Bridge, was arrested Thursday on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm; illegal use of a weapon; simple possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; manufacture, distribution or possession with intent to distribute Schedule II and Schedule IV drugs; and possession of a firearm while committing or attempting a crime.
—Darius Champ, 22, Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, was arrested Thursday on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, unauthorized use of a movable, possession or dealing in a firearm with an obliterated serial number or mark, and domestic abuse battery.
—Russell Goulas, 41, Periou Street, Henderson, was arrested Thursday by the Henderson Police Department on charges of domestic abuse battery and failure to appear.
—John Olivier, 30, Allen Road, St. Martinville, was arrested Thursday for failure to appear.
—Michael Savoy, 47, Theatre Street, St. Martinville, was arrested Thursday on an extradition warrant for the U.S. Marshals Service.
—Theodore  Castille, 40, Berard Street, Arnaudville, was arrested Friday on charges of theft valued at $1,000-$4,999 and resisting an officer.
—James Jenkins, 54, Polk Road, Abbeville, was arrested Friday on a charge of domestic abuse battery.
—Lance Lemaire, 40, Guadalajara Street, New Iberia, held for the U.S. Marshals Service.
—Markalon Batiste, 22, Dorset Street, Breaux Bridge, was arrested Saturday on charges of domestic abuse battery and child endangerment related to domestic abuse.
