60 new confirmed COVID cases in local parishes
Sixty new confirmed COVID-19 cases with no new confirmed fatalities were reported at midday Wednesday for local parishes.
Statewide hospitalizations reached the highest point since the pandemic began.
Twenty-two new confirmed cases in St. Mary raised the pandemic count to 2,827 with 414 probable cases.
St. Martin has 38 new confirmed cases for a total of 3,675 with 298 probable.
Assumption had no new confirmed cases, so its pandemic total remained at 1,173 with 298 probable.
The death tolls remain at 96 confirmed with seven probable in St. Mary, 79 confirmed with eight probable in St. Martin, and 27 confirmed with two probable.
Statewide:
--6,882 new cases raised the confirmed count to 299,967 with 22,557 probable.
--46 newly reported fatalities raised the confirmed toll to 7,681 with 408 probable.
--19 more COVID-positive people are in hospitals for a total of 1,993. The previous peak was 1,991 on April 12.
--2 more people are on ventilators for a total of 207.
