Signs like this one in a Chennault Street yard are sprouting up around town to support Vernon "Tootie" Norwood, the Morgan City High grad who will compete int the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Norwood, an NCAA 400 meters champion and a two-time medalist in the 2020 Tokyo Games, will compete as a member of the U.S. men's 4x400 meters relay team. The opening ceremonies were scheduled for 12:30 p.m. CDT Friday.
