Marcus Jones run will be on festival Saturday

The Marcus Jones 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, beginning at City Hall.
The race’s namesake is Marcus Jones, 78, an avid runner who continues to run daily.
The race will benefit the scholarship fund of 100 Black Men of St. Mary Parish. Scholarships go to recipients regardless of race, sex or religion.
All participants will receive a bib, and all finishers will receive a commemorative race medal. T-shirtswill be guaranteed to the first 100 participants who register.
Awards will go to the top three males and the top three females in each age group.
