Franklin's state championship celebration continues

The state champion Franklin High Basketball Team was honored with a parade and picnic on Sunday. The celebration began with team members taking turns cutting a piece of the net from a goal in the Franklin High boys gym to keep as a memento of their victory. Next, a parade rolled down Main Street from Franklin High to the Courthouse Square, where the team was met by friends, family, fans and local officials for a picnic and barbeque in their honor. The Franklin Hornets won the boys’ basketball state championship by beating No. 1 seed Lakeview 50-45 in the Division IV Non-Select title game on March 8 in Lake Charles.
