Berwick girls will open bracket play Monday at World Series

Berwick’s 10U softball All-Stars were to open bracket play against Duplin County, North Carolina, on Monday morning at the Babe Ruth World Series in Jensen Beach, Florida.
The Berwick girls split their four pool play games over the weekend and have the third seed.
In their pool play games, the Berwick girls:
—Lost to Fort Myers American 5-1 Sunday.
—Beat Wildcats Extreme 6-0 Saturday.
—Lost to Fern Creek Orange 6-0 Saturday.
—Defeated the Brookfield Burn of Connecticut 6-1 Friday.
The Duplin County-Berwick game was scheduled for 11 a.m. CDT Monday. The winner advances to a 1 p.m. Monday game with top seed Fern Creek Orange of Kentucky. Fern Creek won all four of its pool play games without allowing a run.
Berwick reached the World Series by winning the Louisiana and multistate Regional championships.
