Woman arrested; juvenile may have consumed THC

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Patterson woman Wednesday after a juvenile at a medical facility appeared to have swallowed THC.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 24 complaints and made these arrests:

--Michaela Elizabeth Legendre, 28, Patterson, was arrested at 11:42 p.m. Wednesday on charges of second-degree cruelty to juveniles, possession of marijuana, possession of Schedule II drugs, possession of Schedule III drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Wednesday, deputies were dispatched to a medical facility in Morgan City in reference to a juvenile who had possibly consumed THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. Deputies began an investigation of the incident, and detectives were called in to investigate further.

Subsequently, a search warrant was obtained for the residence where Legendre lives. Drugs and drug paraphernalia were located.

Detectives transported Legendre to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $110,500.

--Steven Randy Sullivan, 48, Millbrook, Alabama, was arrested Wednesday on charges of simple burglary, theft, simple assault, and resisting arrest or officer.

Bail has not been set at this time.

--Jeremy Tucker, 38, Gray, was arrested at 2:48 p.m. Wednesday on a St. James Parish warrant. Tucker is being held for another agency.

--Joey Peter Ougel Jr., 50, Branch, was arrested at 7:15 a.m. on a charge of domestic abuse battery. Bail has not been set at this time.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 49 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Alex Douglas, 27, West Raphael Square, Lake Charles, was arrested at 10:46 a.m. Wednesday on two counts of battery of emergency room personnel.

--Anthony James Bourgeois Jr., 48, Iowa Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:18 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of failure to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Eddie Tyrone Mayfield, 38, Fifth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at noon Wednesday on a charge of failure to appear to pay restitution (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Tamoz Deonte Allen, 29, Trevino Street, Berwick, was arrested at 8:24 p.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of protective orders, signal required and failure to appear for contempt hearing (16th Judicial District Court).

--James Johnson Jr., 68, Fourth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:10 a.m. Thursday on a charge of remaining where forbidden. (Released on summons.)

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to seven complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period and made this arrest:

--Girard Navy, 32, Ninth Street, Franklin, was arrested at noon Wednesday on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on the charges of simple battery and simple assault. Navy was booked, processed and released on a $366 bond.
