(Updated) Sheriff: Body of missing rail worker found

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office advises that the body of the missing rail worker, Joshua Crocram, 26, of Zachary, has been recovered. The U.S. Coast Guard, Baldwin Fire Department, Franklin Fire Department, and the Cajun Coast Search and Rescue Team assisted in the St. Mary Parish Marine and Patrol Sections in the search efforts.

Marine and Patrol Sections of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office along with personnel from other agencies were on the scene Wednesday morning at the Baldwin Canal near the area of the Railroad Bridge responding to the report of an incident involving an employee of the rail company falling into the canal at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. The search was ongoing this morning.
